I think this song is about people who get caught uo in their own depression. "Sometimes you want to see the rain but the sun gets in your eyes." Basically, it's about drama queens -- male and female. People who thrive on being so, so sad all the time -- and how unhealthy it is to live that way. Hootie's just trying to say, "Hey, man -- whay not be happy? Happy is a lot easier than sad." |

This is about the most rockin' anthem for the world's youth that I've ever heard. It just plain pounds away -- when it's over you're left feeling excited about yourself. "Hey! Stay young and invincible! Cos' we know just what we are!" That is so damn good. It makes you look back at your teenage years and say, "Hey, you know what? I wasn't such a loser! I was cool, and I was one of a billion kids who have one thing in common -- we're young!" |
