Why is it that the girls who always comment have calmer saner things to say. Good job Susiehighschool. Then again I was a complete idiot when I was 15 too. Look white people aren't innately intolerent. They living in Europe a fertile hospitible place when they got their shit together advanced quickly. Much quicker then others and were soon all over the globe. Seeing new things all the time and having new experiences they weren't ready for and in some cases handled themselves badly. But if you look at other people say the Chinese they never went around the world to meet these other people. Its not that yellow people are nicer. They just stayed put and never had the experiences the Europeans had. This is a classic example of technology moving faster then people could cope. We had fast cutter ships but limited antropological knowledge. |

First off Rancid is a great punk band "Lets Go" is one of the greatest punk albums hands down. You can't be from California and hate Rancid. The standard response to criticism of America by morons is "Leave if you don't like it." Yet it has merit. Manifest destiny and relocation of Native Americans wouldn't have been needed if it wasn't for immigrants. Whether; German, Czech, Chinese or whatever. So that has merit if you and your family hadn't of come over and taken up space there would be no need for the expansion of the 19th century. Like the bigoted statement by "nazipunksfuckoff" proves by calling somebody white there is an incorrect connotation of intolerence. Racism and sexism and other bad qualities are a presence of mind not owned or dominated by any race. Most egalitarian ideas were developed by white people. Karl Marx was German Henry David Thoreau was a white American who wrote civil disobediance later read and implemented by Mohandas Gandhi and later Dr. King in the civil rights movement these were both men of color whose ideas belonged to a white man. I know all you guys are like 15 but please please try to think before you say things. There are 2 sides to every story and one of them usually is more right then the oter. |

It's very obivious WWII/ cons of the post WWII nuclear era. I'll explain.
1.dying days of war= the Bomb was dropped on August 8, 1945-Japan surrendered on August 14th
2.Lots of references to the manhattan project in los almos new mexico the scientists were german and others from europe+Americans. i.e. they gathered from across the lands and desert sand they blew up the first one in New mexico on July 16th 1945.
3. "the chain reaction" is what makes an atom bomb special all the little atoms explode in a chain reaction when its done that is the big explosion!
4. the enola gay is the name of the b-29 which dropped it. And from what I hear those pilots were pretty bummed out they didn't know about the bomb they were just told to drop it.
5. Japan was known as "the rising sun"
6.The rest of the themes are about living in a world armed with nukes(actually thermonuclear H-bombs way more powerful) and through the cold war being moments from the end of the world for the last 60 years. Bad Religion sings about this stuff too musicians usually condemn those scientists as evil for making the bomb.

Is equally as bad as blindly following the American Government (which is you by the way) or blindly adhearing to christian Dogma. In other words listen to Greg then research about what his message is. Then either dismiss it or embrace it, Greg isn't God either. |

this song was no doubt about layne Staley's heroin addiction(which killed him). in fact a lot of Alice in Chains stuff is about that. Same with Red Hot Chili Peppers(Who's guitarist was killed by heroin). Alice in chains was from the seattle grunge movement started by Mother love bone who's lead singer died of heroin. Thats what the Temple of the Dog album was for. Heroin sounds fun huh. |

The voice in this song that keeps repeating(N.W.O.) is George Bush the 41st pesident. it was from his inagural speech when he talked about the fall of the evil empire and the vision of the new world order refering to the wto and a global economy. The 41st president did have a military atitude; Panama, Somalia and Iraq I think ministry had beef with this and thats what they were adressing. I must say I think with exception of Panama the other 2 wars were justified. |
