| Eels – It's A Motherfucker Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| If i remember correctly, the song is to his sister who commited suicide when he was writing the album. Of course it's open to interpitation of how it makes you feel. It's very beautiful and it's been comforting for me in the wake of my best friend's death. | |

I agree, but I also get the sense that the singer is stuck in a rut and feels like he's trying run on ice (i.e. not getting anywhere). Oh yeah, and something I really love is that he's not exactly whining in his lament, cause he blames himself as much as he blames the circumstances to his situation. |

| Wow, it's eerie how topical this song is when you think about that the song is from 1992. | |

A wiser man than I once said: "Love... it's a motherfucker" And on that note, can I have your material stuff? |

| Iron Maiden – The Wicker Man Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Did you listen and compare the two songs? | |
| Strung Out – Wrong Side Of The Tracks Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Seems like the singer in this song keeps getting shorthanded in life and though he succumbs to his vices and keeps failing every now and then and he can't find a way out, he'll keep on trucking. The best part about these lyrics is that the singer isn't whining, actually he's got a pretty l'aizzes fare (sp?) attitude about it. | |

|
"a silhouette of you and me just negative space and time" I love these lines |
|
| Strung Out – The Misanthropic Principle Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
It seems like the singer in this song has become pretty apathetic and yes, borderline misanthropic. As if he's challenging someone to give him just one reason to care, at all. |

| Strung Out – Somnombulance Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Great description of insomnia whilst giving off a sense of dread and uneasiness. | |
| Strung Out – Reason To Believe Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Sounds like something Tyler Durden would spew. Fantastic song |

| Strung Out – Just Like Me Lyrics | 21 years ago |

For some reason this song reminds me of the type of girl who believes they're gonna change the guy as soon as they can sink their harpie claws in them. I'm probably wrong though |
|
| Strung Out – Asking For The World Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
He's just saying to someone. "Cut the fucking bullshit and level with me." Wether it's a friend, a love interest or hell, even a parent is ambigious, but given Strung Out's penchant for fucked up love relationships, I'd say it's a couple thing. Great song |

| Strung Out – Kill Your Scene Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
It *IS* about Jim Cherry, his drug abuse and leaving of the band. Kinda like a wake up call and maybe even a hint of an invitation back. :( Weird to think abut now that he's dead, which he wasn't when this song was written. Just to clarify that there's no disrespect to the dead and genius. |

No, it is "scape" as in scapegoat. Skate won't make any sense. |

Such a life-affirming song. It's about focusing on what really matters in this life to get by. |
|
| Strung Out – The Kids Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It's about this fucked up, mismanaged, ritalin generation of kids. | |

I think it's about spanking the monkey. Seriously |
|
| Strung Out – Satellite Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| They've hinted that the song is for Ozzy, but never gone right out and said it. The song was written before Jim passed away and their relatonship was a bit strained at that point (See Kill Your Scene) | |
| Danko Jones – Lovercall Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Actually, it's about oral sex. | |
| Iron Maiden – The Wicker Man Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I'm not sure what this song is about, I thught it may be about teh cult movie "The Wicker Man", but not having seen taht I can't say. Anyhoo, I've been a fan of Maiden since I was a little headbanger back in the 80's and this song is one of their catchier new ones HOWEVER, I dareyou to listen to Green Day's "Bab's Uvula Who?". More specifically, the guitars. then listen to this song. I can't believe Maiden tooka bite from Green Day. Wonder if it's just a coincidenc. | |
| The Distillers – City Of Angels Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Actually, Brody and Tim *DO* have a duet togetehr. It's teh song "Weigh On My Mind" by the Transplants, the band Tim has with Travis from Blink 182. | |

One of my all time favorite songs. It has a special meaning to me as it reminds me and symbolizes a relationship I had. The true meaning of teh song in my eyes is about a relationship which has reached it's end. Two people have grown apart and this has finally dawned for the character who's the speaker. The progression thru this song is just amazing. And in teh end, the singer is strengthened and ready to move on. Eitehr that or it's simply a relationship which never even got to being. Anyhoo, teh character goes thru teh same exerience adn teh end where he's finally accepted the situation and is ready to move on is so powerful. |

| Metallica – Nothing Else Matters Lyrics | 23 years ago |

"like maybe a couple where a 14 year old is going out with a 21 year old" Dude, sick! That age difference is almost bigger than my penis. Anyhoo, fantabular song and the original meaning of the song was to James' lady, but as he's stated over teh years it's become a song between the fans and teh band and teh bond they share. |

| New Found Glory – My Friends Over You Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
HOLY POOP ON A STICK! I feel like I just tried reading the Double Downs Syndrome version of the Dead Sea Scrolls. WRITE PROPER!! U = you, 1 = one, 2 = to ot too, ur = your or you're and whatnot. Gawd, it's as if there's a computer virus that spreads into peoples minds making them unable to type coherently. On another note, I like this song. great feel-good pop punk track, but it seems that alot of you can't grasp what people mean when they say that NFG's stuff on their first albums was "better" or at least more intricate than this. You see when bands become what all the hip kids call "sellouts", then they mean that a band makes compromises with their music so it will appeal to a broader fan base and thusly earn more money. Now, the fact is that musically, this song is a lot simpler than their earlier work. there are PROBABLY two factores that have caused this. Number one: By simplifying teh music, then more people will like it and number two: I'm pretty sure NFG are under pressure from their label to make a new album quickly so they can cash in alot quicker, this means taht the band has to hurry up and make songs, and not have th required time to take their music up a notch. On anotehr note, I hate it when people bemoan teh fact taht bands get big. You're not special just because you listen to a band noone else has heard about! If that were true, then I'd listen to Japanese Polka music played by quadrapeligic Swedish pandabears! So get off your high horse and appreciate a band for what music they make, not cause "OMG! THEY WERE ON TRL NOW! THAT'S SO STUPID THEY'RE SUCCESSFUL AND STUFF! I HATE THEM NOW!" Then again, NFG never were the most complicated band in the world. Great song though, It's pretty obvious what it's about though. |

HELLO!? It's obvious that this song is about being penetrated in the butt. The lyrics are quite clear about that! Chester is all : "There’s something inside me that pulls beneath the surface" and "My walls are closing in". Not to mention the line about "there's just too much pressure to take ". Can't you people see? Listen to this song (Yes, I know it hurts to) and have that in mind. "These wounds they will not heal" indeed. Poor Chester's getting raped in the arse! FEEL HIS PAIN! |
