Incubus – Calgone Lyrics 23 years ago
the very ending (written above) when brandon freaks out about the track kind of has an alternate meaning, i think. he sings this song about not letting bad things get to him, and to be more positive, and then he rips gavin's head off about an honest mistake. i found it kind of interesting, and i think there was a reason they put that at the end.

the bottled up fizzy water is another significant point. when you shake up a carbonated beverage, the drink loses its carbonation more quickly. at least, that's what i thought of when i heard this song.

and yes, i agree with most everyone else. i don't think it is specifically about a romantic relationship or specifically about a relationship with a friend, but more of an overall statement that certain things are subject to change.

The Juliana Theory – If I Told You This Was Killing Me, Would You Stop? Lyrics 23 years ago
i'd never even thought that the song was about himself, and i think that is a very possible idea, but some of the lyrics don't quite match up.

i must agree with Dade, in that it is about someone very irritating. we all know people who don't think before they speak, and so irritate those around them. i really really really like this song.

Our Lady Peace – Happiness & The Fish Lyrics 23 years ago
this song is about how boring it can be to be happy all the time. if you are always happy, you begin to take it for granted, and thus the happiness becomes worthless. and so, as the band once commented, if you don't get depressed sometimes, you won't ever know how truly great life can be. at the same time, if you just let go of happiness because you're bored with it, it's incredibly difficult to just get back. and so there's the paradox, the catch-22 if you must. happiness can be bad if you have it non-stop, but if you let it go, it's really hard to get back.

at least, that's what i got from this song.

Alkaline Trio – Stupid Kid Lyrics 23 years ago
it's interesting that i like this song so much, since it is the complete opposite of august in bethany, which is probably my favorite song.

this song is perfect for those first relationships when you feel so committed to the other person, and you tell them all this stuff about how you love them, but you really don't know what you are saying. then as the relationship wears on, you see the real person, and realize that you don't love, could never love, this person. it's sort of a bittersweet song in that you are able to declare your independence from this person, but yet you realize that you never loved them to begin with.

i can definitely relate to this song.
