WOW, those lyrics are wrong. They're in the liner notes. Anyway, that one part... Josie smiles and laughs Me and Scarlett smoke our hash AD and Amalia sing a song when love was on the wrong... |

| Howie Day – She Says Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this is the opposite of how most people see it. It's the new boyfriend talking to the old boyfriend. He's in the present, having this wonderful time with his girlfriend. The old boyfriend still loves her, and tells the new boyfriend about it. That explains the "I'm wondering why you had to tell me what's going on in your head" part. The girl, though, loves the new boyfriend and doesn't want to go back to the old one. The new boyfriend doesn't want to hear it at all, and he expresses in the song that the old boyfriend will NEVER have another chance with the girl, even if something goes wrong with the new boyfriend. "She doesn't mean you" clearly says this. | |
| Jeff Buckley – Corpus Christi Carol Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
And on this bed there lyeth a knight His wound is bleeding day and night By his bedside kneeleth a maid And she weepeth both night and day Obviously, this is talking about Christ's body. Yes, we know Corpus Christi is also a city in Texas, but that's not what this is about. It's a religious parallel. |

| Bob Dylan – Positively 4th Street Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| hmm...I think kevver is right...but that there is more to it. I think that Bob (if he's singing about himself, that is) is talking about someone he was once friends (or more?) with, but was betrayed or used by this 'friend'. The friend is still trying to use Bob for social reasons, but Bob doesn't want that. So ultimately, yes, he's talking about someone he really dislikes :). | |

yes, this is most definitely a beautiful song. I cried quite hard the first time I heard it, and still do sometimes. Well, it's obvious what this song is about, so I won't go into that, heh heh. And yes, I realize that it's written around a character named Allie which is most commenly a female name, but do you guys think he's singing about a girl or a guy? I always liked to think it was a guy, so at least one great song would be non-sexual. But, really, whaddya think? |

| Gameface – Somebody Save This Boy Lyrics | 23 years ago |

This one confuses me a little... Sometimes I think that the guy Jeff's singing about is just a very disturbed guy. Sometimes I think it's about a dream he had, or a dream someone is having. Sometimes I actually think it's about someone mentally ill? Anywho, it's a beautiful song...awasome words...agree? :). And regardless as to who this boy is, he feels that the only way he can become something good and meaningful is to be buried under something great, like a big tree. See? Yes :). |

I've decided that this song is my personal anthem, and the lyrics-submitter guy did an okay job with the lyrics, but some are wrong :-/. It's "you said 'please don't change, don't fade away'", not "so...". Thought I'd correct that :). Anyway, I think the main character is leaving a friend of his. Many would say that he's leaving his GIRLfriend, but it could go either way, really. I think it's more meaningful if it's a guy friend, but easier to relate to if it's a significant other. So, the character(...let's call him Jeff, assuming Jeff wrote it about himself...) has been living with his friend. However, his friend is involved in another crowd or something and treats Jeff like an outcast. When they're alone, the friend is good to Jeff. He says stuff like "Please don't change", since Jeff's a good person; however, it's too late for that. The friend still wants Jeff to depend on, but Jeff's fading away, not wanting to be used anymore. Jeff finally gets up the courage to leave and go out on his own, and the friend realizes that he needs Jeff. He's quite saddened by this. Yes. Hmm. Anyway, that's my take. :). Think of this masterpeice how you will. |

Haha, I love this song...it just sounds so inspirational, dontcha think? :). Well, I think it's plain what it means. This guy (Jeff, I suppose he's writing about himself...) is just in love with this girl, and she's everything to him. When he says "She doesn't think she's pretty / I think she's beautiful" it just shows what sensitive song it is, and how much he cares 'bout her :). (Sheesh, lucky girl, haha). |

| Saves the Day – Shoulder To The Wheel Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Chris wrote the song about wanting to be home from college, but I think it can be percieved in a number of ways :). A lot of times, I'm at a party or school or any social gathering, and I'm just so disgusted with people or whatever that I'd just rather be at home...missing my mom, who's a figure of good :)...wanting to just drive. Wanting to "get...as far as far can be, get...away from tonight." Y'get me? Yeah. :). | |
| Bob Dylan – It Ain't Me Babe Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Well, I think this one's pretty obvious. And havn't we all felt like this at some time? I do, quite often. I think that the narrator of this song has found someone he wants to be with, but doesn't want to be as involved as the other person does. So, the narrator is explaining all the things that would be a problem. Also, assuming that Bob is singing about himself, he's kind of a wanderer. He just doesn't want to be tied down. | |
| Bob Dylan – Blowin' in the Wind Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
Yeah, you guys are right...but I think it's more that people CHOOSE not to see the reality. It's like, they think we can't change it, so they try not to notice. For example, about the 'too many people have died'...everyone SEES that people are dying horrible deaths, but for some reason don't understand the severity. It's kind of Bob's way of sayin' that yes, love is all that can change everything. And I agree with him :). |

| Better Than Ezra – At The Stars Lyrics | 23 years ago |

I can totally relate this song to this last summer, with a guy friend of mine...we both just wanted to get away from everyone and everything. We wanted to just be anywhere but home. And we would drive around, just doing nothing, and it meant so much. I would often look at the stars, and think of the song :). Anyway, the lead singer actually wrote the song about, when he was 14 or 15, he had a girlfriend who he'd pick up really late at night and they'd just go drive around, not wanting to go home. :). |

| Saves the Day – Handsome Boy Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Okay, I don't think he is (just for the rercord :)), but the awasome lyrics to this song are regardless as to whether Chris is bisexual. I can't believe people are listening to his genious songs and just thinking about wanting to have his babies. Sheesh! Anyway, my analysis: the main character in the song simply makes an offhanded comment on the good looks of a boy, and it starts him thinking about how simple life would be if he were simply more good-looking. He seems to have a (false, maybe?) perception that handsome-ness makes up the man, that good looking friends = good friends. It's just very insightful, and all about how image is everything nowadays. :). | |
| AFI – God Called In Sick Today Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I, along with others (none of us very religious) who've analyzed this song, have an idea that it is Davey's take on how Jesus felt when he was being crucified. The opening of the song clearly states how the world is beginning to turn evil ("Let's admire the pattern forming, Murderous filigree"). The next couple lines explain how everyone is abandoning Jesus ("ignore and leave for me the headstone crumbling behind") and, even at the hour of crucifixion, still deny him. Next, even as she (his mother, I think) cries in sadness for his death, he's laughing; this is because he knows that it's all for goodness that he's dying. The next part is literal: his soul, dying for the selfish people, brings tears to the angels' eyes. The words "let's amend the classic story, close it so beautifully" and the lines after are the end of the old testament of the bible, when he dies. The lyrics explain that, while many people see it as a beautiful story, Jesus "still sees the violence of the lines"; even though he saved all those people, he remembered how horrible and...well, violent they acted before he took their sins. At the very end of the song, Jesus is reflecting on how different people see him now, and how everyone acts: there is still malevolence, yet he is the omnipotence: the highest power, the authority. While the plot of this song is about Jesus, I also think that Davey wrote it because of how HE felt at the time, and how he has felt the same (and havn't we all? :).) Thanks for reading!! | |
