| Elton John – Don't Go Breaking My Heart Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| I hated this song when it dominated the FM airwaves when it was new, and I still hate it. | |

Ahh the '70s. Lyrics that make no sense. Maybe a dream? or extreme drug influences. And...what's a moondrop anyway? |

Maybe the guy gets shot by the people on the boat, or does the rifle blow up in his face? Is there a connection with the song "Down By The River"? If you want to get REALLY confused, there is a collection of Powderfinger posts from the Rust list at: http://hyperrust.org/Rust/PowderFinger.html |

| King Crimson – The Court of the Crimson King Lyrics | 23 years ago |

From one of the most daring debut albums ever recorded by anybody. There was nothing like it in 1969 and still nothing compares. What IS this song about? It's beyond me. There seems to be some drug influence here. (The album cover art reinforces this notion) Note: Be sure the CD you buy indicates it was made or distributed by Caroline Records -- earlier versions sound awful. |

| Pink Floyd – Your Possible Pasts Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Before I first heard this song, I never thought about the concept of "possible pasts". | |
| Pink Floyd – Two Suns in the Sunset Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| A sad song about a nuclear holocaust. And you can't do anything about it. | |
| Peter Gabriel – Family Snapshot Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
I remember hearing this song live during the "So" tour. Peter said "This is a song about assasination". Just as the song started, various people around me were saying "listen to the words". It is based on "An Assassins Diary", the notes and scribbles of Arthur Bremmer, who shot and crippled Governor George Wallace of Alabama in 1972. He also (earlier) tried to get Nixon. |

| Peter Gabriel – Solsbury Hill Lyrics | 23 years ago |

Listen carefully until you hear a line that sounds like some weird language. Record and play backwards. It's a little tricky to make out but he says: "You play the record backwards". Also I've heard that there is a line which says "loo fuoy", which is "you fool" backwards. |
