these lyrics could have so many meanings. the sweater could be a metaphor for rivers' reputation, and how as he walks away, someone talks bad about him which causes him to unravel or ruin his reputation. the sweater could refer to a relationship "unraveling" as well. anyways, i don't think these lyrics are at all odd, it's a great, sad song with tons of imagery |
