Is noone else tempted to laugh at the irony of this song. She is singing about this girl who is being someone else to impress people...should this not sound a little familier to Avril herself. She doesn't write her own music, and she doesn't dress the way she wants to...it's all a marketing ploy to make her as popular as the label can possibly make her. She was originally going to marketed as a country singer, but they realised that that had already been done (leanna rhimes, etc.) so they thought "lets make her all punk...the kids will just eat it up". I wouldn't care too much, cos i don't care what other people listen to, but it's her stupid arrogance that she thinks that she can be a fake pop-princess, AND brag about how cool and punk she is...she just gets on my nerves majorly! Also, she wrecked the 'style' she copied...i can never wear a tie in public again without being called an avril wannabe (i used to wear ties over t-shirts a year before avril had even heard a punk song). Sorry about the rant, she just pisses me off! |

umn, i hate to start the argument again, but i am aggreeing with canada and co........the song was in the 70s (there was a 'queen night' on TV last nite, and this was a feature), the song was used in Wayne's World, but it was NOT written for it, neither was it about his AIDS, since he didn't have the diease, or rather didn't know about him having it, at the time of the song. neway wasn't freddie dead when waye's world came out? |
