ive noticed at the key to writing a good song or poem is to admit something that is sad but true about yourself... people like to know that others are wrong also. |

Yea everyone who commented about the three way relationship is so correct... its hard as shit to have a good three person friendship... i think of it this way... if you all go to an amusement park and go on a rollercoaster... one person is gonna have to sit out or sit with a stranger... everything needs balance.. including relationships.... just add a person and 4 ways seems tight

| The Get Up Kids – Forgive and Forget Lyrics

When he says ..."I think ive waited long enough" hes showing that he knows that he would forgive and forget sooner or later but time would have to determine just when... i think thats awesome... its so true for me also... I know that after a while i will forgive and forget no matter what... even if the person really did something fucked up... i bet he or she didn't really mean to make me feel so bad. |

Chris is so brilliant in this song because he is so contradictary.... he plays with the listener's emotions and shit... hes all triumphant when he says "tonight i will redefine..." but then he says he can't reach that definition... He's doing this because thats what he had to go through in order to realize it.... false hope and crap. |

| Saves the Day – All-Star Me Lyrics

I like how Chris is so critical of himself... it reminds me of myself sometimes cause im usually make fun of myself when i do sometime stupid.... He calls this song All-star me cause he's satirizing what he thought he was while goin out with this girl... he grew his ego a little too big and fucked it all up but its all good now cause he knows he was out of his mind. Chris is a tight guy... not afraid to admit he's wrong. |

| Saves the Day – The Last Lie I Told Lyrics
| 23 years ago
|
|
I think Chris is in this parking lot because he's thinking about some lie he told. Here he realizes what a fool he was for not being truthful and he uses his surroundings as a metaphor of what his real situation is. "Clouds" are his "Lies" and if they weren' t there he could see the city... I particularly like the rhythm of the singing when he says "four miles... the city..." (kinda like a pun) and it also anticipates the "clouds" when he pauses after "city".... goddam masterpiece. |

This song is by far the most powerful to me... I kinda had some problems with my dad while i was growing up and i still have all this bitter ass tension with him... so this song really helps me get out my anger... if i could go back ... i would also be a "brick" |

yes the song is self explanitory but i would like to point out how phat the rhythm guitar is to this song. I learned to respect power chords much more because of Saves the day... and this song in particular. if youre a guitar player... just learn this song and sing to it... it'll make your day. |

| Saves the Day – Blindfolded Lyrics

Everyone is blindfolded. Chris descibes how painful it is to not be able to tell what a girl or guy is thinking, romantically or any other way. If everyone would just stop playing mind games and speak from the heart, we wouldn't have any more blindfolds.... but im kinda glad we are cause this song is so fuckin tight. |

| Saves the Day – Banned From The Back Porch Lyrics

Connley speaks so pure in this poem. When i remember shit from my past, i can only remember random ass shit... like riding a bike down hill one day then goin home... i never remember birthdays or weddings or any of that supposedly memorable crap... i think its because i only remember the best of what was normal to me... here Connley was having a normal day but seeing that girl is what made it best for him... inculding the summer mist, wet patio, warm ginger ale and all that good shit. |

O man this song is so brilliant. First of all this is one of his stream of consciousness style poem songs... tight as shit. But im talking about the guitar composure.... they built up the tempo until the "i could win you over acting cool" part... and they chop it up so melodically... its magic... thats all i can say |

| The Get Up Kids – I'm a Loner Dottie, a Rebel Lyrics

This song is all about how life goes on ... with or without you. "One night, doesn't mean the rest of my life." Is some damn good advice he has to offer to us. Even if "last night" was the time of your life, if you are smart, you should still go back home tomarrow.
