And punk didn't die. When the ramones stoped being so "popular" and the sex pistols died off, it wasn't as popular. The scene isn't as strong and as true and it was today, but the scene is infact huge due to more commercial success of the word punk and how it is often used to describe bands suck ass greenday, blink, sum41, NFG, fenix tx... ect. I still think you cannot say a scene has big as the punk scene(especially now) is dead. There are infact true punks who are true to their scene. But lately at shows ive noticed they suck ass cause most of the fucks at shows crowd it all up. Like on Thursday i went to a Poison The Well show, and rufio was one of the opening acts, 50% of the kids JUST came to see rufio, thats it, they didn't know the rest of thebands. i guess thats just the atmopshere of the shows, but punk the shows. same thing when iwent to the plea for peace tours. there was a lot more little fucks there JUST to see antifflag than at the last antiflag show i was at(i hatye antiflag and i didnt go to see them.) |

first of all, i know 100000 more real punk band that NOFx and millencolin are skacore... they mostly do ska or have a ska sound, and that band is dropkick murphys, that you every, and this is my thoughts on emo that i posted once and ill post again
emo doesn't exist, the term was coined by thrasher magazine to describe Embrace, but if you're gonna call music that, let it be one of these bands and not dashboard confessional..... the bands like Rites of Spring, Moss Icon, Navio Forge, Sunny Day Real Estate, Still Life.... and i' not putting fugazi in here for reaosn...fugazi isn't emo. i used to considert them but then i thought and used some brains and figured out that they sound more like Gang of Four and are more influenced by Ted fucking Nugent than Moss Icon. eventhough they do contain half of rites of spring. think they're something more than emo though and they dont really sound like any other bands of the genre. but yeah, calssifing them as emo isnt a crime, i just thing they arent emo...
but i dont think any of u would know those bands i listed. |
