Also, he plays this song with Babyshambles, which I dunno, but it suggests to me that he knew the irony of this song when he was writing it. I think it's just about that particular person in general, he's not exactly saying she's a waster exclusively because she does drugs. |

So pete didn't do drugs when writing this? I don't know, but I can't imagine just starting drugs and becoming a heroin/crack addict so quickly?
I don't think this song's merely about the girl being on drugs, I think it's just about her in general.
And yeah, I saw that documentary. The guy was a prick but at the same time I felt slightly sorry for him, with a history of depression and stuff, he done some fucking stupid stuff though. That Kurt Cobain question, I mean, what the fuck? It's basically the same question Newsnight asked him about 5 months before that documentary was shown. |

i agree, i think it's great how he talks about faith so openly and yet can connect with atheists on such a great level at the same time. what i mean is despite being blatantly open about faith and having songs with this kind of meaning, it doesn't exclude anyone because the lyrics are quite open and based around imagery and landscape. amazing song, amazing band. |

i reckon this song is about getting, or trying to get, into a relationship that you know is going to fuck you up. You know it is, but you do it anyway. The big clue for me was from the title and kwnoingly getting yourself into dangerous situations which you'll have to escape from, and I think the lyrics back it up pretty well. |

scandor: I'm not gunna pretend to know what happened in Kurt Cobain's death. But the heroin theory thing, well, it's valid to an extent, but after shooting up heroin it doesn't kick in instantly, it takes about 30 seconds or so to kick in, technically, he could have quite easily shot-up heroin and then shot himself. |

its actually called dogfish rising, and its the hidden track on mate. feed. kill. repeat. i know how it was made and shit but i cant actually remember right now and cant be bothered to go and look it up in my knot biography book.
also, i cant remember if this is the right song, theres a bit where anders is screaming, and its him having this really sticky recording tape (he stuck it on his face every knot show for a mask) being ripped extremely painfully (this was the only way to get it off) off his face by shawn.
oh shawn, when will u learn ;) |

| Citizen Fish – Out Of Control Lyrics

"In '89 when the eastern European countries opened up to western eyes and the Berlin wall toppled, Romania ousted its leader Ceaucescu who - to the shock of our free press - had installed cameras on the streets to observe his people... outrageous, it would never happen here, etc, etc. Now the U.K. has more cctv cameras than any other country per head of population. Being watched became being protected. The price of protection is the subliminal idea that we cannot control ourselves, and the resulting further deterioration of sense of community that humans are geared to. As big business crime goes on unheeded we walk the streets afraid of the potential criminal amongst us, and even the one inside us... because being watched has always inferred GUILT or NOT BEING TRUSTED. It creates low self-esteem which on a large scale creates a society whose only cohesive point of reference is the government, to love or to hate, but the sole provider of better times just around the corner... pacified via television, yet scrutinised when outdoors, it's watch or be watched. All else will be taken care of.
On a happier note, the cameras are pretty much useless, unattended or empty; any use of cctv film by the cops to secure conviction is - until they amend the law - contrary to article 8 of the European convention on human right (the right to respect for private & family life, and its sanctity against "interference by public authority"); and cctv, errr, create jobs? Screen-staring of yet another kind! "PHONE IN SICK!" signs held up to the cameras.... (quick before they make that illegal too). "
that's what the album sleeve has to say about the song, i didn't type it up, i got it form a punk lyrics site (if you were wondering.) it's definitely worth a read! |

now before we start hating phallingdown we have to take into account that he/she knows fat mike personally and also knows exactly what everyone is thinking. the bands on fat wreck are bad, this is not an opinion it's a fact, cuz phallingdown is clearly superior to everyone and knows many things that we don't. phalling down is closer to god, than human.

this song is about the injustice of a man called mumia abu-jamal on death row in the states. he was convicted of killing a police officer that was abusing a black man in the states, but he is innocent. a hitman has confessed to the entire thing giving a series of events leading up to the death of the police officer, but the state refuses to take his confession into account. a prostitute saw what happened and the police basically told her "if u dont say mumia abu-jamal done this then we wil lbust for prostitution!"...go to http://www.mumia.org to find out more and to find out nwhat YOU can do. |

i get the bit about his mother killing herself and him feeling angry with her (if i'm right). but, it seems like there's more than that to the song, the line "then i became the person you hated most, disrespecting the father, son and holy ghost" sticks out to me, he had his own views and she told them they were wrong, and he disagreed...i dunno, ne1 have ne advances on that? |

this may have already been said, i didn't read all the other meanigns, but, i actually KNOW what this song is about!
before lateralus and after aenima tool nearly split up, but (thank fuck!) the didn't.
they felt in order to get tool back on track they had to "rediscover communication".
read the song with this in mind, everything fits!
"i knwo the pieces fit cuz i watched them fall away" - he saw that the pieces fit cuz the fact the band used to be friends, and that was drifting further and further and further apart.
this sopng is about the near-breakup of TOOL and how they saved it. |

i agree with the war theory, he's saying wolves has more order than the army, and he might not come back if he goes with the war.
I don’t want to be your little research monkey boy
The creature that I am is only going to destroy
research monkey boy - the gulf war soldiers and all their "unknown" diseases and syndromes.
y be in the army when all you'll do is end other peoples lives?
and their army isn't their world leaders, it's made of the country's poor, just like the armies r made up of the US or UK poor etc. |
