It think this song gets little support for the CC community is because it seems very disjointed. I love the feel, the guitar, the voice, but the message is very tough to extrapolate. I feel like it should be the best song on the album, but I have a lot of trouble relating to it. Adam is such an excellent lyricist, but I think the connect to the emotion behind the lyrics is either too deep or too vague. That said, the song has an excellent mood which clearly signifies depression and regret. Still one of may favorites. |

As much as I love Scrubs, and the chorus of this song, it is terrible. The lyrics are poor, sort of like Avril Lavigne with a banjo. |

It seems so simple, but the lyrics are so poetic and the music creates a wonderful atmosphere. Listen to songs like this make me jealous of his talent for taking a fairly common occurance and wording it so beautifully.

I think he sees this person who is worn out. He can tell she is just on the edge of a complete breakdown. "shatter in the blink of an eye". She is carring so much, that he just says you have been waiting so long to let go, just do it. Fall apart and I'll help you rebuild again. The cutting is more figurative, she will be on the ground, battered by her emotions.
Sure, It is probably about suicide, but I like to come up with alternates.

I immeadiatly thought this was a depressing song, but it has transformed itself in my mind to a laid back, emotionless song. It reminds me of times when everything in your life is ok. Nothing exceptional, nothing heartbreaking, just fine. It is an ordinary day put to beautiful music. One of my favorites on the CD, if not #1. |

when I first heard it, I thought it was too poppy for my tastes. But after learning the lyrics and hearing it a few times it has grown on me. I think it was an attempt to sell out, unfortunatly, they are to good. |
