the metaphors in maynards lyrics are genius........one of the best song writers of my time.....great lyrics are those that can be interpreted many different ways to fit many different things......maynard is a master at this.......by the way H is his sons middle name and it can also be a connotation for heroin

yo hoffa dude.......come on man maynard has a very dry and sarcastic sence of humor and i dont believe that he wants every word of his to be taken literally (listen to Hush). Lyricists are always being ridiculled for every thing that comes out of that mouth and that just isnt fair....in my mind tool is one of the most influencial, under-rated and brilliant bands of the 90's and the new millenium and maynard is a lyrical genious.....my advice to anyone who listens to tool is to take everything in with an open mind....and as far as religion goes come to your own conclusions on what to believe in. |
