| A Perfect Circle – A Stranger Lyrics | 17 years ago |

For me this song is about someone I fell in love with, who has dissociative identity disorder. Lyrics fit the disorder and how I feel right now so well, its quite sad. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Leaving Hope Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Quite a few years by from my original comment. But if hope isn't a positive scenario, then what is? | |
| Nine Inch Nails – The Hand That Feeds Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I'm sorry Fluid, is this songmeanings.net or paradeyourego.com? | |
| Nine Inch Nails – Pilgrimage Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song to me represents the change in style NIN went through going from TDS to The Fragile. | |
| Nine Inch Nails – The Downward Spiral Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I beleive this album is a story. Although of course, that's open to each's interpretation. I also beleive the character does pull the trigger in this song. Hurt is an oppurtunity to say what the dead character would never have had the oppurtunity to say...if it were in fact a 'true' story. | |
| Linkin Park – Papercut Lyrics | 23 years ago |

Um, IMO. The song is about a person who is very 'self critical'. A person who looks back on past desisions and critisises themselves for them. The whole 'paranoia' element, is about being afraid to make choices, beleiving they'll be poor ones. |

| Fear Factory – Demanufacture Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| the fear factory albums are a story set in the future incase you didn't relise..... get thier Linchpin EP and watch the clips on that, Burton says it there. | |
| Linkin Park – Faint Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Meterora is a much more musically mature album than Hybrid Theory. Sure the formula for HT was good, but i'm very glad LP decided to add more elements to the way they're writing thier music in Meterora. Go listen and compare. | |

erm, people are forgetting this is http://www.songmeanings.net not just song lyrics. actually i think that need to make a clarification about that somewhere. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Leaving Hope Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| My new favourite NIN song. No lyrics to this one but the title and music suggest a hopeful scenario. This song was a part of the STILL cd most probally being one of the studio outakes that wasn't released before. Juding whether it comes from 'The Downward Spiral' or 'The Fragile' era could help to give a better prespective on this song. | |
| Nine Inch Nails – March of the Pigs Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
I think this song could prehaps be about the fans and how through Trent's songs they tried to decipher another peice of Trent's life. Prehaps he saw the people/media as only being around him because they wanted to see him fall apart. 'Take the skin and peel it back Now doesn't it make you feel better' refering to people taking a peek inside Trent's life and feeling better by it. Not sure if i've explained that as well as I could have. But just a theory. |

| Nine Inch Nails – The Becoming Lyrics | 24 years ago |

Trent has often refered to society as a 'machine' in other songs. In the TDS story this is another of the self-destructive steps the character takes. When listening to this song note the lines that are 'distorted' and the lines that aren't. As if referencing the character and another part of the character (ie. the more self destructive side). This two character reference becomes more obvious throughout the album. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Hurt Lyrics | 24 years ago |
|
As said, TDS is a story. Without this song TDS would be pro-suicide. But this story is the big twist at the end that I think shows TDS wasn't about suicide, rather that it was showing a story of a person who committed suicide and as only as a story can do, show what was felt after the death. So all in all, maybe that album and most of all, this song is a good reason for anyone serious about suicide and/or a self-destructive lifestyle to take a second look on it. |

| Filter – Hey Man, Nice Shot Lyrics | 24 years ago |
|
not saying that it is about kurt cobains death or not. But lyrically, hey man nice shot, could be interpretated as in he what he did in his life a good shot. although it does sound more likely to be about someone who pulled a gun out in front of a lot of people. whether that man was Budd Dwyer i would not know. |

| Skinny Puppy – Worlock Lyrics | 24 years ago |
|
i love this song. although the way skinny puppy wrote thier songs always make them so very hard to interperate. I think as with a lot of skinny puppy's song it tries to show a different way of looking at society and how it works. Prehaps there's some sort of reasoning about Charles Manson in here seeming as the samples are of him (thanks for that info NIN7688) The sample 'Now Is The Only Thing That's Real' seems to captivate me at the end of the song. |

| Nine Inch Nails – And All That Could Have Been Lyrics | 24 years ago |
| the song seems to be a message to someone. no interpretation really required lyrically. It has been suggested amoung the NIN community that this song could be a message to the fans. Or prehaps someone off side in Trent's life. | |
