The Smashing Pumpkins – Spaceboy Lyrics 20 years ago
You know, as of September 9, 2005, I have read every single word of the confessions posted on billycorgan.com (excellent, excellent story-telling), and have more or less kept an eye out for this "Spaceboy", but I've found no direct mention of Billy's brother being mentally handicapped.

Third Eye Blind – Wake for Young Souls Lyrics 20 years ago
That's very interesting. To me, it seems more like the death of one's youth. The author is kind of reminiscing about when he was young and the friends he shared it with.

Except for the line "the day you died", I don't think there's anything in there that particularly points out an actual death, though of course, you can take it any way you want it. If there is a death, it's the metaphorical death of the fun times and unshakeable bonds of youth. Perhaps losing touch with an highschool friend, or still being in touch, but everyone has to wear a suit and go about their white collar jobs and can't have fun anymore, but not an actual death.

Our Lady Peace – Julia Lyrics 23 years ago
Yes! I stumbled upon that on KaZaA, and it's great! I recommend that everyone download it. It's just Raine on a piano and singing. The tempo is much slower, but it is so beautiful.

Our Lady Peace – Thief Lyrics 23 years ago
Wow, thanks egoat711! I always wondered who that girl they mentioned at the beginning of the video was, and now I know, thanks to you :)

I just wanted to comment on the video... it uses some truly amazing filming techniques, but the real amazing thing is how beautiful it is, although the whole thing just consists of the band sitting on a park bench in the middle of a rain storm! And has anyone noticed how appropriate the video is? When I first heard the song, the guitar and drums in the intro always made me visualize rain, and sure enough, when the video came out, there was rain :)

Our Lady Peace – Naveed Lyrics 23 years ago
I did some research, and Naveed was actually someone that Raine Maida knew during his childhood (so was the Birdman I think?).

Naveed is a Persian word/name. Literally translated, it says "Bearer of good news".

Our Lady Peace – Automatic Flowers Lyrics 23 years ago
I think this song is about a very lonely girl. Read the lyrics and you should be able to find many obvious supports for my thinking. Flowers represent love and relationships, but the 'automatic' basically nullifies that -- the flowers are given without feeling? :P
