I'm suprised no one mentioned that the line in the chorus "oh you look so beautiful tonight" was what bono had yelled to the crowd post 9/11 at madison square garden. |

these lyrics are so messed up... They are: YOU'D TRADE OUR STARVING EYES FOR A TAR AND FEATHERED HEART... and then its OF BEAUTIFUL AND SACRED THINGS AND YOUR IMMACULATE DISGUISE. I'M TRADING IT IN FOR MY PRIDE WAR EMBLEM... its not a big deal, but if someone's going to post someone elses music they should do it right thats all. |

My mistake for that previous message. Alright, well I've been thinking about this quite a bit lately and I've told a lot of my fellow Dashboard friends about this too, and it kind of bothers me. OK, well like a lot of you these days my favorite band is Dashboard. What is it that makes him your favorite musician. Well you'll obviously say it's his amazing voice, his beautiful melodies, and his poetic brillance, among other things. But, did you ever stop and think for a sec, that your favorite band is nothing more than the result of long periods of one man's pain and suffering. I mean don't get me wrong I do believe the phrase that emotion's, whether they be mixed, happy, or sad, is the foundation for some of the best songs ever written. I don't have a problem with that at all, it's just I don't understand how the world can love music that depicts the worst part of someone's life. Maybe its the personal aspect that gets us off or maybe its the distinct content that makes it so intimate. I don't know, I don't even know if that made any sense. It really doesn't even matter now that I think about it, but thanks for readin and sorry for being overanylitical. |
