wow.. i havent heard this song for a while.. but reading the lyrics again i have a new found meaning for it... i'm going through a fall out with my roommates right now which is just one disappointment of a whole chain of things going wrong in my life right now... i dont feel like im myself anymore... this song is awesome.. i totally feel like the girl in the song - she is frustrated b/c the guy she loves is falling for something that he thinks will make them happy, but ultimately will lead to loneliness. and while the rest of the world is cold and too busy to care, she wants to take him away from it all and show him that it doesnt have to be that way... in the video she is desparately screaming at him to see the things the way she sees them and the fact that its freeze frame and she is the only one moving is that she feels like he's not listening... i think that sometimes all we ever want is for someone to take the time to hold us and save us from all the shit that we have to deal with everyday. and its the people who take the time to "save us" and be there for us who hurt and feel helpless b/c no matter how hard they try to save us, it's really up to us if we let them... |

this song is so powerful... i think it was intended to be from the perspective of a kid who's dad walked out on their family.. but for me, it makes me think of when i've realized that someone i considered to be a real friend turns out to be just the opposite. "poison in everything you say" is when they try to dress up what they're saying to make everything seem right, but you know and can feel that everything is FAKE. |

tears were streaming down my face when i first heard this song. i swear, it pretty much sums up how i've been feeling for the past couple of months.... this world has disappointed me so many times, "i wish i made cures for how people are" b/c ppl can be so cruel and insensitive... i look around and i see all these injustices that go unnoticed and "i wish i could change the world" but i can't! and i feel so mAD! and SO anGry! and SOO cALLOUS!! so helpless. but then i guess it's just b/c we are all "so lost, confused again" and again all over again... |
