the first time i heard this it just brought back so many memories...the hardest times of my life were when i was having problems with high expectations from parents about grades, etc. i've gotten past that pretty much, but i think anyone can relate to this song so much- no one lives up to everyone's standards all the time. |

thank God dave is a little upbeat and happy sometimes...sure we all like listening to sad and angry music at times, but it feels like thats all there is now. Dave has the best outlook on life and his music is inspiring....can't wait till i see him in july!!! even if my seats are like 2 miles away :( |

every time i listen to this song(about 100 times a day) i feel like chris wrote it just to me. two different people, two different personalities- both wanting the same thing. the girl is me-- the typical popular girl, wearing all of the latest fashions, etc and theres the guy dreaming of the impossible and not quite fitting in-- yeah thats the man of my dreams. me and my warped sense of reality found it weird to be attracted to this guy until i heard this song..it helps me cope, it keeps me sane, it fuels my dreams....one daywe'll sing this to each other and live happily ever after....... |

i totally agree with painting with music...the music video)(and the song) always make me happy. It isn't about guy/girl love its about love that everyone has for each other...and it is all that we need. as for those of you who think its not a deep song- i totally disagree. Its about love and life and if that isn't deep than i don't knwo what is. just because the lyrics are a little more fun and its a better outlook on life than the played out depressing lyrics that are everywhere, doesn't mean its not deep. Its about the most important thing that there is.. |

its violent, its what we want to say, its how we're scared to feel- this song helps me beleive that its ok to be so mad/angry/upset and wish nothing but horrible things tro the person that mad eyou feel that way. but he also addresses that they are just different("you and i are like when fire and the ocean florr collide") so although the other person may be shallow/egotistical/whatever, it just wasn't meant to be |

In my opinion this is an awesome song...All the songs today are about sad things or guy/girl relationships- dave just knows how to make me feel happy about life and love in general. Even the simplest lyrics are amazing! |
