First off, damn good song, driving guitar, good lyrics. For me the song is just saying that there is not a thing in hell that could stop the speaker of the lyrics. Whatever they want, they're eventually gonna get. The lyrics also just fit Benoit both as a persona and as a real person. |

There is some beautiful imagery in the lyrics, I haven't really decided upon a meaning cuz honestly I'm not certain there is one, but the imagery gets me every time. I was in several plays and a couple of musicals in high school (check out the movie version of "Arsenic & Old Lace" sometime, it was the first play I ever did, and it frickin' rules) I went to state a few times for forensics... was in orchestra... was an officer in drama club... was in choir.... was a singer in a metal band... oh, yeah, and I scored a 30 composite on my ACT's.... that enough to convince you that I'm not a typical dumb "jock"??? And stuck up?? lmao, ok... no... sorry pal, but you couldn't be further from the truth... I have friends in all sorts of groups... the popular kids cuz I was in sports with them forever, the drama "freaks" as my school so kindly dubbed them... the computer nerds... even some of the yodes(hicks to the rest of you)... But sorry pal, by no means am I stuck up. I am, just as you little "emokids" quite the sensitive guy. Tis a love song... no doubt.. it doesn't need the word "love" in the lyrics to be about love... It's the straight forward feeling you get form the words, and how he sings them... You can tell that he's singing to someone who means just an incredible amount to him, someone that he misses... ADMM85- lol... They were watching TV late at nite... 10 Commandments was on, they saw the fog, and one of the guys (James I believe) was like, "Whoa, creeping death!" They thought that was cool, so they went back and got the whole movie and watched it and wrote the song--twas on Behind the music..... Necroth.... actually, James was raised a strict Christian Scientist, he started to question much of it when it allowed his father to die of cancer I believe because Chrisian Scientists believe that the body is sacred and such, and their beliefs would not allow him to get surgery that could have saved his life... but anyhow... I've read from a few places that James, and maybe Lars as well have been "born again"... take it with a grain of salt... but James did know the story from the bible.... |
