I have to agree that they are great live, but I saw them at The Door in Dallas.

P.O.D. – Youth Of The Nation Lyrics 24 years ago
I think alot of you have missed the point here. This song is written in three sections. The first secion is not about any specific event, just the same as the next two are not about any specific person. They are about three generalized attitudes that plauge the "Youth of the Nation". One is a kid who is killed in a school shooting. Don't forget that P.O.D. states that his death is as much his fault as it is the shooter's because his lack of care for this indivdual. The second part is about a girl who tries to fill the void in her life with sex because she feels that it is the only way people can love her. This is caused by the lack of a father-figure in her life. The third part is about that guy who could never quite fit in. He tries and tries but noybody ever likes him, because of this his life is empty and he commits suicide in an attempt to be remembered. The end of this song leaves you with a question "Is this all there is to life?" I belive that the message of this song is that this is what happens when we try to raise our children without the presence of God. I might be wrong though because P.O.D. is pretty vague as to what this song TRULY means, but don't tell me I'm wrong because you are an Athiest, Satanist, or Ognostic.

P.O.D. – Alive Lyrics 24 years ago
First off, if you are a born-again Christian than you probably have little doubt as to what this song means, so you can skip this. P.O.D. is a Christian band; the band's name stands for Payable On Death (The ransom Jesus paid for your soul when he died for your sins). Knowing that, it is a pretty safe bet that this song is either about Jesus himself or another Christian aspect/belief. When he is talking about trusting in love, keep in mind that the Bible says Christ is the embodyment of love. the chorus is the description of the feelings you recieved after accepting Christ in your life, the only proof to this is, well... you just have to experience it for yourself, but trust me, it's accurate. When he is talking about telling the world how he feels inside he is talking about how Christians are supposed to share the word of God, regardless of how people react (in this case, being blacklisted for being a 'Christian Band'). When he is saying "I can never look away" and "I could never turn my back away" he is talking about how after you have a personal relationship with Christ, He becomes a part of you that you do not and cannot ignore it. I hope this helps some of you understand this song.
