Ok- once again I find myself stumbling upon the Avril lyric page. Is it because I'm bored? Is it because I like to see people bashing a poser? Possibly, who knows! It's probably both. Anyways, I find that the majority - well maybe 75% of the posters on this page are Avril haters. Good! You have tons of reasons to dispise this white trash wanna be skater punk. I'm going to once again state my opinions about this wonderful musician that we've all grown to love and admire. Ok - I'll cut the shit. I fucking hate Avril, every time I hear that damn song I want to gauge my ear drums out of my head so I dont have to hear her high pitched voice, her poorly written songs [go back to school please... sk*er boi] ERG! Everything about her just pisses me off... Onto the people that are going to trash me after I post this message. I'm not jelous of her. I relly don't like her, and I think shes' really untalented. All you ahve to do is hire musicians, and the producer of N'Sync and there you have it, another pop band. She's not pop with a rock twinge, she's not punk, nor hardcore. She's an everyday girl with a pop stars dream. I'd be more than happy to sit down with the poor lassie and teach her how to play the guitar, I just don't think she will though. Lol - sorry my little sister pisses me off with all her britney spears related b/s arid eyes - I'm only going by what I hear come out of her room. I don't watch TV, I think it clouds the mind with bullshit, as it did with a lot of people. 12 year olds are interesting. She's not one of the first girls to wear ties, I have to wear one everyday to school. Then after I usually wear one just to go with my plaid pants, or my dickies dress... See though? No one told me what to wear to become popular. When you make it big in the music business it becomes more than the music. This song means absolutly nothing. She's the most untalented person... well maybe not. Look though, she thinks she's all hardcore and punk and wears sleeves and a tie... "Oh Hey guys!!!! I'm punk!!!!!" Idk - but all the misun I listen to... NFG, DC, PWT, SL, STD stuff like that ISN'T played on the radio every 5 god damn minutes. Herm. I definitly not a pop music fan. I think pop music is pretty ridiculous. [Excuse the poor spelling] None of the pop artists write they're own songs, or music. So I don't understand what all the hubub is about this Shakira chick is. Dude - the Backstreet Boys - all they are are some faggy guys with ok voices singing someone elses songs. When you're at they're concert next time just remember they didn't write that song for you. As for this one, does Shakira even know this much english? Or did they have to teach her how to sing someone elses lyrics in English? No blonde headed ditz can write that good. This song, it's absolutly amazing. The instrumentals enhance the lyrics, and makes what he is trying to say stand out more then he intended. He did something that he felt the need to do. Wether or not it had benifits for everyone else. He needed it to be done for himself. Now, people are like "dude, what did you do! you're nuts!" He can only turn to one person, wether it be a g/f, friend or God. "I was just wondering if you'd come along To hold up my head when my head won't hold on I'll do the same if the same's what you want" Here, he is saying please, I do need someone for me - come with me, if you did this - I'd do the same for you. "If not I'll go I will go alone" He needs to get out of here, wether it be alone or with someone else. He needs comfort. "I need so To stay in your arms see you smile hold you close" Ok, he needs someone... I believe the "if not i'll go alone" is a bit of DMB sarcasm. Why would someone go alone anyways!? He did something wrong, and wants someone there to run away with. Needs someone to love and hold. Do the same thing for him too. |

Dave used to work at a bar, this is true. This song is more then that however. I believe that Dave is in somewhat of a depressed state of mind. With lines like "Please don't forget me if I go" and "Please don't regret me if I die" How could you not think that? He's fearing death, and is asking people to not regret knowing him. He's asking the Lord to forgive him for what he did, he seems to be praying "I'm on bended knees, oh Bartender, please, Bartender, please..." I believe the Bartender in this song is the Lord. It seems like he's preaching him. Anyways, I believe that he's fearing death, and is giving his last words to everyone before he dies. This is, indeed a masterpiece DMB is my god :) |
