its amazing. its about deleting the past from your life that makes someone depressed to "come back to life".

this line:
"standing alone my sense reeled"
i thought was supposed to be "standing alone, my senses real."
and whether it is "soul in tension" or "soul's intention"...
idk tho, no matter what the exact meaning of the song, all i know is that it is a beautifully written song. |

Yes...this song does have a lot to do with anxiety...The Wall is not only about Berlin and WWII, but The Cold War. I had to write an analytical essay on Arthur M's Schlesinger chapter on the Cold war, and i opened it with lyrics from this song. because the people were scared because NUCLEAR warfare could kill millions within thirty minutes. so people were constantly living on edge. many other songs on the wall relate to this.

this song is so good. its my favorite off the new album. i agree with the rest of you...he wants to thank someone that was very important in his life, but he never had. hes also saying that it doesn't matter if the person doesn't respond or doesn't want to say anything, he just wants to be able to say this to the person.
I really like the last line of the song. it definatly wraps up the song well
