Bright Eyes – Messenger Bird's Song Lyrics 21 years ago
I couldn't find a song that fits me better right now. I just discovered bright eyes, and I'm loving them.

Heh, and its really weird. My name is Conor also... spelled the same way. I thought I was the only person on earth with only a single n instead of two.

I actually think that this song is about america. It hit me the other day.

"How do you own disorder"

I think that this is asking america how they can control disorder. Why should america get to decide what countries have disorder?(fighting, wars)

"looking at life through the eyes of a tire hub"

As amercans, we almost never get the straight facts, they always have some sort of an opinion, or "spin" on the truth

I have to agree with Precobytes that this is definitely a wake up song. I think that the song is about how people worry too much about themselves, and can be off in their "own little worlds."

"flashlight reveries caught in the headlights of a truck".

First of all, revery means "to daydream, or delirious" so reveries would be people who are delirious, or go through life only worrying about themselves. When the consequences of their actions finally hit them, and they realize it, its like being "caught in the headlights of a truck."

"somewhere between the sacred silence and sleep"

I think that once again they are stressing how people today don't pay attention to the world around them. They aren't dead(sacred silence), but they aren't fully awake.

"Looking at life through the eyes of a tire hub"

Well, a tire hub spins, and if you were looking through a tire hub, it would appear as if the entire world was spinning, or revolving around you.

"how do you own disorder"

I think this is about how there is so much violence happening around the world. How can humans think they are important enough to own disorder?
