This is how I feel about my best friend too. I listen to it at least every other day, and when she gets to the part about 'but think about what I'd be losing..' I get all teary. It sucks that someone else can say so clearly what you feel when you can't even formulate a coherant thought... |

Ok, and Paul was supposedly dead because he wasn't wearing shoes on the cover of an album, and Come Together was supposed to mean at his funeral. MAybe people should stop trying so hard to find 'hidden meanings' and stop playing their music backwards looking for little things that really aren't there. I realize they were heavy into drugs, but I really don't think they tried to push them on anyone, and their music was too important to them to do that. |

It is definitely a cover that does justice to the original. And this version is off the soundtrack of a great movie. Probably the only high school movie a 23 year old should admit to liking. Do you guys know that the plot from 10 Things I Hate About You is actually the story of The Taming of the Shrew by the great William Shakespeare? A lot of the names are even the same- Biana and Katarina, Verona (in the original, he was called 'a gentelman OF Verona), and Padua, the name of the school, is the name of the town in the story. |

This is one of those songs that I listen to when I'm really pissed off-- that actaully helps me calm down. Does that make any sense to anyone else? This and Spit It Out. Now, don't jump down my throat for this, but what I always thought was 'happening' in this song was that the person singing it had just done something horribly wrong and was just going mad over it. LIke maybe he had killed someone in a fit of fury and in some lines little glimpses of guilt come in. I don't know. I love the song though, and no matter what some little punk ass thinks, they far from suck. |

Also, the song was banned from radios when it came out because of the 'immoral implications.' It was even called the Suicide Song. |

Actually, the original version of this was sung by the great Lady Day, Billie Holiday. She had the most soulful, bluesy voice that could make you cry after just a note. In her version though, those last three lines aren't in it. It just ends with Gloomy Sunday. |

I think this is one of those songs that is just vague enough to allow the listener(or int his case reader) to make their own decision of the meaning. Personally, I have always assumed it to be about anyone who was in a difficult postion and needed out. It also is just more proof of how great the Beatles were!! |
