| N.E.R.D. – Rock Star Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I think the song is dis against rock star posers. Specifically nu-metal. I take the 'its all most over now' to be about rock dying. It clearly mocks the cliches of rock posing. In the video they mock nu-metal rock bands with bad DJs by showing a band with a DJ so whack he plays off cassette decks. It could be about rock in general, like 'you don't have to ever quit'. The 'But it was your dream to be like us' is about the suburban dudes wanting to be black and they go hiring guest mcs like snoop dogg. Word. | |
