I only read the first page of comments and decided to make my own. When I first heard this song, forever ago, something clicked. Now maybe I just hear things in songs and identify to what's going on with me, but I think it's about drug addiction. He talks about being totally insane and crazy. When you're caught up in addiction, you have no shame, no guilt, no nothing. It's just how am I gonna get high today..who do I have to steal from, lie to and or hurt. What do I have to do. He talks about being out of touch. When you're out on the streets, living in a closet, walking through life like a zombie, you're not really you, you're out of touch. I BELIEVE it's about being caught up in addiction where you are totally in denial, just going through the motions. |

2nd favorite..hmm..yeah it's defintely my favorite or 4th, because they are 4 albums that are just absolutely out of this world. Transistor, Soundsystem, Music and Grassroots, don't get me wrong, I love self-titled and the two newer albums, but those 4 are the best.
This is one of my favorite 311 songs, i love the melody, the sound of it, and when I sing to it, I sound good haha. But to me it's about, he's remembering a past realtionship, so vidily he can hear her heart beat. He can hear all the things they used to say to each other. He doesn't want to try anymore because he knows it's all a waste. And trying will just make it big waste of fucking time. I think, and it may only be because I'm a big E-tard, or used to be anyways. It's about rolling on ecstasy, in a nutshell. Obviously, it's not very easy to see this. But when he's repeating rolling, it's something you would like to listen to while rolling. They are like saying, in the days when we used to roll. Applied Science..one of my favorite songs, SA kicks it up a notch in this song..They're talking about how good they are as a band, how they do things totally different and they just hide it in there with all the ILL words and similies, you just have to look harder to see it.. |

Clearly, this just seems like it's another one of those, the guy is awesome and the girl doesn't realize it and dumps him but he's still happy..What you don't see is, no matter what happens to you, you can be happy as long as your happy with yourself, the girl dumping him didn't stop him from enjoying himself and loving life.. |
