Considering the credits in the cd say "Conor Oberst - backing vocals" for this song, I'm pretty sure it's Conor... I found it kind of interesting that this is the only song he makes an appearance on and the only part he sings is "It's not a love, it's not a love, It's not a love, it's not a love song" |

Good song. But "Care to caress a cute breast girl" verse is wrong... It's actually Choreographed acrobats go swimming through my mind as I lay down to nap. Wheels grind, on concrete I collapse. As I fall, as I fall asleep. |

| Bright Eyes – Let's Not Shit Ourselves (To Love and to Be Loved) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| 764-mouser, I think in those lines he's talking about having high hopes, and goals and being let down. Next time he won't expect so much from people. | |

I can see where people think this song is about an eating disorder... But I'm leaning more towards cocaine use though... Conor has written and talked about how he has felt isolated. Cocaine and alcohol help that. To EZLN, I don't know if you're young or naive (not meaning this in a bad way) but you said that it's about an ED cause "Fashion rules here and not coke"... I was in NYC for a weekend (met Conor as well) and the amount of cocaine I saw being done or that was offered to me was insane. (For the record, Conor was drinking when we were talking, I didn't see him do any drugs.) But coke is gaining a lot of popularity again, it's almost as common as marijuana. And it's not just in big cities where it's popular, I come from a smallish city and I can't believe the amount of people who do coke regularly. It's a very common drug and it's very easy to get. And you want to do it because the high is just so good. Coke addiction was the first thing I thought of. Especially with the line about going to the bathroom. I have a friend who's a coke addict and the one night we were out together he kept excusing himself to go to the bathroom. Constantly. If he's talking about being at a party I'm pretty sure the bathroom trips aren't to throw up the food that's being consumed. But ED's and cocaine addiction can sort of be one in the same... When you're high on coke, you feel really fucking good, and when you're feeling like that, who needs food? Sure the black eyes could be referring to makeup, could be referring to the dark sunken eyes that addicts seem to get, or it could be referring to both. Songs mean different things to different people. Who's to say I'm right and you're wrong? Maybe we're all right. We take different pieces of music that can relate to our lives and interpret them in our own way. |

| Bright Eyes – Happy Birthday to Me (Feb. 15) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Steven Esquire, I'm not sure if Conor and Neely ever dated, but I do know they've known eachother for years. Neely was his next door neighbour and she's in T&TW with Conor's best friend. Not that any of that is really important.. lol just fyi. | |
| Bright Eyes – An Interview with Conor Oberst Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I was told that it was Mike Mogis and I think it was Todd Baechle. That did the "interview" pretending to be Conor and a dj and it was funny so they added it on to the cd. | |
