Actually, Toramitsu, while it can be interpreted that way, Plus One themselves said that some of their songs are songs about relationships with girls (from a Christian perspective.) Christians, of course, deal with those kinds of issues too. :) The music video of it even has a bunch of girls in it.. My opinion is that it's a really sweet song which I can understand a lot of the meaning behind. 'Although it's hard and scares me so a life without you scares me more.' How do you know when is the right time to tell how you feel? Will you lose the person? Anyway, this is a site about your personal meaning behind the song, and it can be seen as trusting in God too. :) At least this one can, as compared to the Plus One song that starts 'Whereever you are.. tonight,girl, I'll see you in my dreams..' and later says 'your kiss and your touch I'll never forget'. Lol, I somehow don't think that one is about God that time. ;) And, if you're worried about Christian bands 'selling out', I think a better one to worry about would be Jaci Velasquez or maybe Stacie Orrico. But I wouldn't worry too much anyway. :) You can't put artists on a pedestal, because sometimes even Christians have times they fall. |

:O No one has written about this song yet? To me, this song is a very sweet, genuine song about a guy who wants to share everything with the girl, and not just for himself, but to fulfill her needs as well. "Girl, tell me what's your dream, and I'll be there, to serve your every need, yes, your every care, all I have is his (God's) and all I have I'll give". That is a picture of a really neat relationship I think. (If someone had a guy like that I sure hope they'd appreciate him. :P) One of my other favorite lines is: "Just talk and I'll listen." Guys, pay attention. ;) That means a lot to a girl. |

Ahh, Madeline. :) To one of my friends, this was *her* song. I have a great memory of this song, from April 2002, when I was in France.. we were going around the roundabouts/traffic circles and the song just happened to be 'Madeline' in the CD player.. so everyone in the car that knew the song (at least 4 people) started singing it at the top of our lungs as we kept going around the circle. *laughs* 'Here we go 'round again, Here we go, here we go, Here we go 'round again' Etc. This one guy gave us a dirty look.. guess he didn't appreciate us having so much fun. ;) For the song itself.. very upbeat and fun. I really like the line 'I was empty inside, but I just didn't know/You are my ten thousand roses, and I let you go/ Before I make the same mistake, just hold me in your arms/We belong we know it in your heart'. He also has an incredible, unexpected amount of soul for someone his age (then 11). 'Now I don't have anymore songs to sing/Cause you were everything, everything to me.' In that part, especially. No comments?? This song is so very sweet, but at the same time, sad and regretful. Taylor's voice may have soul, but Isaac's has tenderness and heart. The first line used to give me a chill when it got to 'And the thunder rolls these crashing seas/Like a tender kiss holds its heart in me'. Love is a complex thing.. if it weren't, there wouldn't be so many songs about it. :P You don't always have direction, and there's no 'book of love' to guide you, no matter how much one might wish for one and thought there must be one. But it's always worth trying for, lest you miss your chance and regret it forever. Taking chances means heartbreak and pain sometimes, though, of course.. sometimes you 'love wrong' but it doesn't mean that it's gone forever. That's what this song is saying.. very, very good song. One of my favorites. |

Hmm.. what I like about this song, is that when they sing 'I can tell, that the fire's burning out', it's all breathy, like they are running out of breath like the guy and girl are running out of love, or like they are blowing out a candle. (Fire burning out..) But maybe that's just me. ;) Anyway, I'm not sure about the *specific* meaning of this song. Of course it's about a relationship that has 'run its course', as the saying goes, but it's more complex than that. It's like... they both want to save the relationship, but the guy isn't sure that's possible. In her life, the girl is moving in a different direction, even if on the outside it seems that they are the same. They act like everything is the same, that nothing has changed.. but it *isn't* the same. They are holding on to something that started dying long ago, and they aren't sure what to do with it. That's how I see it, anyway. |

This song gives me chills. Not only can I relate to it on some level.. but it also just sounds so.. wistful, regretful.. wow. My favorite part would have to be 'Seen a lot of broken hearts go sailing by/Phantom ships, lost at sea/And one of them is mine/Raising my glass I sing a toast to the midnight sky/I wonder why the stars don't seem to guide me'. *shivers* To me this song means, the guy is saying that he feels cheated. He risked a lot falling in love when that was never his intention, and she let him down.. and now he's left with a broken spirit, wondering why. He's haunted by what his heart felt because of her, she let him go, so he doesn't know where to go from here. Yeah... |
