| Biffy Clyro – Diary of Always Lyrics

I'm pretty sure this is about wanting someone who's so completely self-involved, they're leading you on purposefully because they like the attention.
"Did you wish for your pain?" I think that means standing back and thinking "Wait a second... does she enjoy being a tortured soul?" |

| Say Anything – Treblinkah Lyrics

Well, it was originally called Treblinkah before it was put on the new album.
I adore this song. I get weird looks when I wander around the singing the opening lines. :P
This song's based on film The Pianist. I just think it's interesting, taking common themes like love and sex and putting it against a backdrop people don't generally associate those themes with - ie. the Holocaust. |

I love this song. I got "lie to your love..." put on a t-shirt. (+1 scene points)
I think it's about being friends with someone who loves you. And you know they're in love with you, but you don't feel that way about them - or maybe you do, and you just don't want to admit it to yourself. And then one day you wake up and realise that you love them too, but it's too late.
"Sorry for my dreams.
I just didn't know
How long you could wait.
Doesn't matter now." |

| Biffy Clyro – There's No Such Thing as a Jaggy Snake Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
Well, I've always found a load of Christian imagery in Biffy songs. There's the obvious Christ reference. So maybe the snake parts and refering to the Devil. I dunno. Maybe Simon was raised Christian, and he's torn between his beliefs here. He could go against it, but he's got a voice in his head saying "Don't go down that road".
Or maybe not. |

I wish I hadn't read that post about the deer. No offense intended to mimicry at all, but this song always made me think of two different things. One was my best friend's little brother being hit and killed by a car a few years ago. The other was about how much I hurt a girl a few years ago. |

| Straylight Run – Existentialism on Prom Night Lyrics
| 21 years ago

This song reminds me of the post-prom scene at the end of American Pie. I think this song is similar thematically to Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) - A moment that divides one part of your life from everything else that follows. "Where we go from here, no one knows" sort of thing. |

| Bright Eyes – An Interview with Conor Oberst Lyrics

Am I the only person who didn't find this funny? I mean, I probably wasn't listening to it in the right frame of mind. But what it really made me think of was absurdist theatre. It's almost Beckettesque in the way it's put together. Does anyone else get that? |

| Onelinedrawing – Your Letter Lyrics

I think he's gotten the letter, which basically says "You're not the one. Sorry." He throws it across the room in anger, and just sits staring at it, thinking about what he's lost and how much he hates his ex. |
