I'd have to agree with vrai, I mean if something has a title with as pretentious a word as 'angst' in it, its bound to be a bit sarky. There are plenty of songs that seem to very accurately capture the stereotypical psych of the teenager and seems to half agree and half laugh along. I love this song ^_^ |

Amazing. Such a beautiful song has managed to insight plenty of hate on this page. It's really interesting to hear everyone's interpretations of this piece. Some aspects I like, some less so, but I certainly won't listen to it the same way again.
Whatever the case, I hope SOAD keep up their musical endevours and keep speaking their minds. And I wish many cookies to all the angry and upset people on here. And such. |

Did anyone else notice the title? I spent ages thinking "What the hell is Egnirys Cimredopyh? I know its not Japanese." Then I noticed... Its Hypodermic Syringe backwards. If everyone else already figured that out, sorry. I just want to share my enlightenment. |

I disagree. surely the line "My promise is made but my heart is thine" says she still loves him? They were lovers, he went away, she was forced into another marriage, and now when he returns, although the feelings remain, there is nothing either of them can do. O the angst! Seeriously though, I love this song. |

Sounds like a vampire song to me. Its NOT just that i'm a vampy obsessive. Seriously. the girl wants to be a vampire. So she's have to die, eg. be buried: six underground. In life she has nothing, she she is "open to falling form grace", like turning into something monstrous. I odn't really think this, but ti does kinda fit. hmmm. |

This song just shows how varied Nine Inch Nails stuff is.
this is a beautiful and touching song, but to me it seems to be a denial song.
The Person speaking was once innocent, but has lost this, along with joy through the course of time.
The only meaning in their life now is the 'she' mentioned, who is being dragged away from innocense with the passing of time. She has lost her own self confidence, and is without meaning in the world. Now she has died, whether it is accidental, suicide or murder, and now the person speaking is making promises and talking to her, trying to bring her back and make her perfect once more.
In my mind, I see them holding her body and telling her how "I won't let you fall apart." it's too late. But they feel that maybe if they say it enough times and turn it into a mantra, she might return.
"we'll find the perfect place to go where we can run and hide
I'll build a wall and we can keep them on the other side
...but they keep waiting ...and picking" Maybe if the speaker had taken her away from the bad of the world earlier, it wouldn't be too late. Though she was selfless and beautiful, it is these sort of people who are lots too easily.
