First of all "As I'm hurt turns into hating" SHOULD read "As my hurt turns into hating"
Anyway, the song seems to be about him being in a one-sided relationship where he keeps giving and giving and his loved one just takes and give nothing back. He is obviously frustrated and like that line says "As my hurt turns into hating" He used to be hurt by these actions, but it is going so far that his hurt is turning into hating and he is starting to hate this person for all the hurt he has gone through. The line "My god, I'm not a whore" is saying that he isn't there for her to just rape for her needs, raping of course is not sexual but taking from him what he does not want to give at that moment. |

This is not a guess, I know this is the meaning of the song, from Thom Yorke from an interview I saw.
The song is about a teenager at a party where he sees a girl he is infatuated with. He's so in love with her but does not have the guts to actually talk to her. Instead he imagines in his mind that she is some perfect being while he is just scum, or a creep, in comparison and is not deserving to even be there with her. He then imagines that if he would talk to her she would run away because he's not good enough for her to listen to him. By the way, the lyrics "She's running out again" is wrong, it's She's running out the door." |
