This really is a great song, and the imagery in the line "Looking up at the stars glued above the back seat in your car" really fits the mood of the song.
The way they played it at the Last Show was great too. Rory had a pseudo slide-guitar effect going and Gabe gave this great "ooh-hoo" at the end of it. |

In the commmentary on the Last Show DVD Rory says that the title is a quote from South Park, but he chose it because "...the song is about being fifteen and listening to tons of Cure records, and being so in love with somebody..." |

The song is simple enough to understand. Basically the singer (the talented Jamie Woolford) is talking to a fifteen year-old kid and telling him that he doesn't have to give into to his father's constant pressure to conform to a certain personality type. It's basically a song encouraging this kid/the listener to be themselves and not to worry about what others think. |
