I don't think it's really about anything..However, I know the name, percy bass, is the name of her friend's pet pig..But I think it could be related to watching someone grow up and lose thier confidence and gusto for life...Like maybe a grandmother watching her husband grow old.. |

Trench mouth is actually a gum infection, that appeared in the early 1900's. It's scientific name is Vincent's Angina or Infection after the french bacteriologist Jean Hyacinthe Vincent. Vincent's Infection, which appeared around 1922 is a progressive painful disease of the mouth that is marked esp. by dirty gray ulceration of the mucous membranes, spontaneous hemorrhaging of the gums, and a foul odor to the breath and that is associated with the presence of large numbers of a bacillus and a spirochete in the lesions.

I thought the same thing as the above person about the line "such a sweet face trapped in a staircase by the smell of her own burning hair.." until I found out what the song was about and could picture a girl of a ripe 13 trapped in a staircase or elevator shaft, not knowing what in the hell is going on and burning to death.. |
