When I saw Thursday, Geoff explained the meaning of the song. He said it was about the loss of innocence and a guy taking advantage of a vulnerable girl. Like having meaningless sex, but making it seem like it is something more. So basically a girl having sex for the first time and thinking it is special, but then realizing it was nothing. |

I totally disagree with most everyone Potent has a negative connotation to it and thats an important word it hink what serj is trying to say is sarcastic...hes saying though Science has come so far it will never undo the thousands of years of religious programming that people undergo...hes basically saying that people are religious sheep and will never change |

I think the meaning to this song is obvious, and those of you who said you think its about SOAD making it big obviously dont listen to the words they sing. I think its obviously speaking about the USA and how they feel they own the world and control everything in it, but really the world is in disorder, and i do think either the seeds refer to drugs or it could simply be a mataphor for the way Americans think, like we'll just sit here and eat our seeds and let the day pass while the rest of the world is dying. Also Conversion Software 7.0 i feel is obviously religiously oriented, and he might be speaking about the control of religion and how it makes people stupid. Lastly a few of you talked about the last line as being optimistic, and i think Serj meant that to be sarcastically optimistic and tied into religion. When I became the SON (meaning Jesus Christ)...I shone life into a mans heart, that line to me is mocking religious people who are blind to see the worlds problem and see the USA as right and pious |

I think this is a great song with great lyrics and I really thnk the meaning is much more obscure than youd initially think, I think the songs about living in this country, and realizing that you have no say and that no one cares, and how hed rather die than live ina country where no one cares for one another. |
