"you keep your distance via the system of touch" shes a physical kinda girl, but that leave much to be desired on the emotional level. |

when i first heard this song, it struck me as being about the coming together of opposites for a greater union. however you want to read it Man & Woman or just differant kinds of people. its about an ecstatic love of humanity that comes when youve learned to just trust/love/respect everyone. |

i love this song... so sad.. so melodic... so Type O Negative. the pure devotion in this song... he loves her and it shines through so perfectly. but like most women. she has dreams... and her "dreams of books and praise" cause her to have to depart. leaving poor peter all alone... he misses her so much and hes afraid that he wont see her again, that she will be gone from his life forever. hey klm at&t the uk post system do you still love me? she never came back (KLM Airlines), she never calls (AT&T), she never writes (the uk post system). she doesnt love him. and that kills him. |

pete's own version of the song "hey joe" i think the lines that say it all are "last night i killed my lady, cause i caught her screwing around all over this town" im sure we've all felt it once... or will. when someone hurt you so much that you just wish they where dead. no matter how much you loved them, they crushed this love and when you cant love them what can you do? hate them. since love and hate are both extreme emotions, we can see why peter would want to kill 'his woman' for 'fucking around with some other man'. oh, on the subject. "hey joe" was a great song too. |

personaly i thougth that the enlish version of the song (the one that MrClown was talking about) is actualy a pretty good translation save maybe for the first two lines... as for meaning.. its a typical anarch song, pressing that they he doesnt want to be and angel... pretty simple... probobly has more personal meaning to the singer then anyone else could possible place on it though. i would say that whoever re-wrote it for the English Speaking Masses did a very good job. I would say that the English version is almost as good as the original, but definatly not more so. |

i think it was all translated for the English Speaking Masses pretty well.. save maybe for the first verse... its mostly right and i think that as a person who speaks only extreamly limited German i can say that this version is much more "American Friendly" and as good as the original... but, of course, definatly not more so. |
