this song is a great song. and also its like a big reference to Blade Runner and Neuromancer. if anything its just a dystopian anthem. they know theyre littuature and like it. |

this song seems pretty simple at first but its not about drugs in the typical sence. the drugs he refers to are mood altering perscriptions. evvexor, paxil, remeron and prozac and whathaveyou. (I know. I'm on remeron right now) and the chorus sings truth. that the whole idea behind taking these pill is a funamental deconstruction of what you want. of if you will, DON'T want. that the chorus exoplores the core ideal behind willingly taking a drug like that. I know first hand. you take it in hopes of changing who and how you are. that the person you are now just will not work and its usually becuse of a depression or something along the likes. its a longing to be different than how you are in an act of sheer desperation. the verses just kind of explore the aura surronding it to set a tone and give insight to what experiancing it is like. and to what goes on through someone's head when they make that final desicion to turn away from everything. its a really good job of portraying something that I find. plus, its a great song too. |

| well from what I can understand that if you all remember a while back there was a scandal where a lutheran church claimed to have discovered the robe that Jesus was wearing when he was crucified. and somewhere along the line someone had claimed to have analized the DNA on the loincloth and since Maynard seems to just LOVE analyzing religion in his lyrics it, to me, seems that Maynard liked the idea that this Jesus figure was so "godly" because of an extra set of 2 chromasones he was born with. the dicovery was since proven to be a hoax since then. but iether way, it was a really cool idea that Maynard put a spin onto. that people followed and believed this man becuase of this genetic difference they knew nothing about at the time and it became a big religon that now goes against, in nature, every bit of advice Jesus could muster. I think its kinda cool. but then again thats just my crazy take on it. | |
