It's perhaps one of the top ten BEST rock songs of all time...especially when the riff is played by both guitars. It's like musical perfection...I can't help but think "Damn, why didn't I think of that?!" I love Zeppelin more every time I hear an old song...oh why did I have to be born in the 80s?

Coldplay – Warning Sign Lyrics

I think this is the perfect song--it's catchy enough to be mainstream (ugh, if it has to be) but it's BRILLIANTLY crafted. It's like the most basic topic to write/sing about in the universe (lost love), but when Chris sings it feels different than anything you've ever heard has made you feel. (did that wordy explanation make sense?). "But the truth is...I miss you so...and I'm tired...I should not have let you go!" WHOA, gorgeous. This whole album just moves me in ways I can't describe...God bless Coldplay.

Coldplay – Politik Lyrics

Coldplay make incredible music, and this song is definitely no exception. A PERFECT first track for the album, not to mention an amazing song in general--I think the meaning is more broad than anything. The bands opinions of politics may be sided and strong, but they're not gonna make statements of all their songs (cough cough RADIOHEAD's HAIL TO THE THEIF cough cough)...this is straightforward and powerful, but also beautiful and sincere. What's not to love about Coldplay and/or this song, really?

This song makes me so happy...when I decided (this spring) to go 9 hours away for college in August, hearing "I Gotta Move" truly inspired me to "go forth" and do what I need/want to do! There's nothing left in my town for me...BK must have felt this way sometime, and gosh, I'm glad he did...his songs have the simplicity necessary to understand but the meaning to move you...what a gem.

BK is a genius, not to mention an adorable, friendly little dude...he was born to perform and make people happy. Lizzie is undeniably loved and valued by Ben, and it's a precious, innocent love. If only we could all find a "Lizzie" or "Ben" to write songs about or have songs written by for us, eh?

Dave Matthews Band – I'll Back You Up Lyrics

This song is about moving on...Dave, regarding whomever this woman was, knew that he had to pick up with this life and grin and bear it. He wrote it in the most positive light possible, in my opinion...God, I've felt this way so many times. There's a certain peace to the song--Dave had some assurance that he would always "keep up with" this girl, and always ALWAYS would "back [her] up." This is a brilliantly SIMPLE love song...I'll always remember how I felt when I first heard it, and I bet it will mark many places in my life to come. (I'm seeing DMB tonight, by the way...in Cincy, OH...I'm sure they'll be amazing, par usual.) Later days.
