In Addition to the above: Overall the song has More of a "new Love" Feeling. When you start a new relationship all you can think about is that person you are newly in love with. So she avoids it all day , Then at night she cant do nothing to prevent her self.. |

Actually I dont think that there is a Drug Reference in this song. You only assume it because of her history.
She stays busy all day and keeps her mind off of "him". If she feels she starts to think of him she will think of something opposite, By doing a "180". But at night.. when the day is done and she has nothing else to do but sleep. Her dreams take over and he is the main subject of them. At first she is relentless because she is trying to forget him "This face in my dreams seizes my guts He floods me with dread Soaked to the soul" But then she welcomes it because in her dreams she can have him and he is hers in HER dreams "If I was my heart I'd rather be restless The second I stop the sleep catches up and I'm breathless This ache in my chest " She doesnt care what her heart is telling her.. when she goes to sleep she can have him there. As far as the "He swims in my eyes by the bed " I think its more so of her dreaming of him... When you dream espeacially in a deep sleep.. your eyes "Wiggle". Also "It's all I can do to assure him When he comes to me I drip for him tonight Drowning in me we bathe under blue light" I think that has a more sexual meaning. In her dreams she can GIVE her self to him. As far as the drowning in me part.. I think its more of the two of them in her mind not in real life so the situation has no where to go but under. But in the morning to her surprise.. she is alone.. no matter what her dreams made her think. Hopefully that doesnt sound to random :P
