"and I offer my hand, all dry and English slow" slow to offer his hand because shaking hands in England is unusual outside of business situations? |

| Soul Coughing – So Far I Have Not Found The Science Lyrics | 17 years ago |

i may be way off here, but dinosaur is a slang term for morphine and/or heroin... he compares a heroin high to 'floating in a warm sea' in Houston, so why not 'descending into the molten core'? to me 'i have not found the science' means i can't control this thing. i haven't figured out a way to do this without fucking my whole life up- but, oh well! who's worried when you're nodding out? |

| Gin Blossoms – Follow You Down Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
my ex and i had a drug problem we shared for several years. when all was said and done we'd gone through hell but still loved eachother. we tried several times to make it work with this exact mentality. 'let's not do the wrong thing and i swear it might be fun...' wonderful song but in my case- poor advice. |

this song makes me think about addiction. 'and, you know, they never really owned you you just carried them around and then one day you put 'em down and found your hands were free' 'and the best minds of my generation can't make bail' so wonderful. |

| Bob Dylan – Subterranean Homesick Blues Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i love in the video how he's holding the 'it's hard' sign right after 'get sick, get well' and he holds it a second longer for emphasis. i actually swooned the first time i saw it. | |

anyone else make a connection to Long Walk to Forever by Vonnegut? that could just be in my head.... either way, fucking beautiful song, nearly died when he played it live (the first time i heard it). |

| Modest Mouse – Dramamine Lyrics | 22 years ago |

i love the social theory about kissing/coughing, and i believe that it could tie in. "And that you'd killed the better part of me If you could just milk it for everything" those lines make it hard for me to believe that it's not at least partially about a relationship. drugs, relationships. this song allows a lot of contrasting and comparing. it's simply lovely. |
