I didn't change my name just for this song. This is my screen name along with my AOL screen name. I just recently found out about AFI since "Girls Not Grey" came out. Now, I can't get them out of my cd player. No I have not been a fan for a long time but since I've found out about them, very interested and dedicated. To me, this song like in the title it's "Girls Not Grey" to me "Grey" means like depressed. Also, people see the world in black and white. Sometimes people see things in Grey. But to me, Grey means depressed. That a person is sinking into depression and they are trying to get out, to feel happy again. But it's hard to get out of depression. Maybe "Girls Not Grey" is a girl or whatever (however you want to look at it) is something to raise the depressed person's spirit and get them out of depression. In the video, you see how Davey and the band is dark while the girl is very colorful and happy. That's what the song means to me. For me, it's a spirit lifting song. |

I don't nessacarily agree that they were beaten. To me, a person can take you down mentionally. My ex was a nut job and he was dragging me down with him. Yes, lol another song for him. And the song is missing a part "Miss you....." For me, it's my ex brought out the worse in me because of his issues. He abused me mentionally, emotionally and physically and with the "Miss you" part is that unfortuely I do miss him, but I f***ing hate him. A love\hate thing for him. |

This is a great song!! I love kittie. This song is one of my songs to my ex-boyfriend. Whenever I'm sad or missing him, I put this song on and remember what messed up things he did to me. "You're here to lie. Your good looks, your fake smile. I loved you but it took me a long while to realize you don't even care. All the feelings, you had none" that part really expresses how I feel for him. As much as Kittie is screaming and you'd think would make you hectic, it makes me feel better and cools me off.
