| Bright Eyes – Lover I Don't Have to Love Lyrics

this song is amazing. everyone goes through a time when they are just so sick being hurt. even though in theory it seems like it will work out and you can have meaningless sex with people, eventually, even if you end up getting hurt over and over, you'll crave love again. "so hurt me" |

cuz fate works both ways meaning, she thinks she has to be with someone else and that she'll be better off with the new person. but he's saying that in the end she'll get what she really deserves and she won't be happy with it |

i agree with txsnowbunny. it's definitely him at her wedding "and I never thought it would hurt just to hear "I do" and "I do"" and "I'm at your - celebration" and "Your wagons been hitched to a star Well now he'll be your thing that's new" this song is so pretty |

the song sounds like it's about someone he has a crush on. she's with someone else but he wants to be with her. and "a thousand clever lines unread on clever napkins" are the things he was thinking of to say to impress her and try and win her over, but he never ended up saying them to her. |

this song is so pretty even though it's so sad lol it's about a relationship the guy doesn't want to be in but the girl does. he wants to end it but he doesn't want to break her heart so he never has the guts to tell her how he really feels and that just upsets her more that he couldn't be honest and had been pretending to love her. she's going to move on and be fine and he's not going to miss her but he wishes he didn't have to break her heart. |

| Barenaked Ladies – Be My Yoko Ono Lyrics

this song is so funny. it's about john denver and yoko ono and the BNL are so great with words. these words are pretty much self-explanatory. it's about yoko following john everywhere, even when being kicked out of the country. (Now that I'm far away it doesn't seem to me to be such a pain to have you hanging off my ankle like some ball and chain) and in the end the BNL defend yoko and then say they'd give up their careers to have someone to love as well.

| Jimmy Eat World – Your New Aesthetic (Slow Version) Lyrics

this song is about how the music business has changed
"for your time it's written out. work means nothing by itself" - music artists today don't have to have the talent or creativity to come up with their own lyrics and music for their songs. they just do what they're told. they spend more time memorizing dance steps and such, then focusing on their music
"selection kills the old, selection breathes on it's own" - new songs are requested and the old ones are forgotten even though the old ones may be more talented then the new stuff. it's just the way things work. unless there is a big enough group to request the "old" stuff, it just kinds of slips from the air waves almost completely.
"these days are numbered i can tell. so until the crash i'll write you down" - he's saying that these pop, r&b, rap, etc. bands aren't going to last much longer because sooner or later people are going to realize they don't have any talent. so he's saying for now he'll (we'll) write them down (remember them) until their joyride is over and then we'll forget about them
"sing while you can now" - he's letting those other "pop" bands (not just pop, but i mean the actual term, popular) know that they better enjoy it while they can because eventually their going to fade away and only the bands with real talent will stick around and be able to produce such awesome music (such as jimmy eat world :-) haha)
and that line could also be directed to the listeners in a way by saying that these bands aren't going to last, so sing along with them now, but eventually you'll forget about them because they don't have talent |

something corporate reminds me a lot of ben kweller :-) maybe they know each other... they both have the funny lyrics with pianos and such. something corporate is a little more rock than ben kweller, but they both kick ass :-) |

I think he says "i can remember parking lot nights"... anyways
this song is so sweet. "would he stay up late if you can't sleep? cuz baby i would"
i hate girls who are with guys that they always complain about not treating them right, but refuse to dump them. it's so retarded.
in this song he wants to be with someone who has a boyfriend, or maybe likes someone, who doesn't treat them right at all and doesn't care about them the way that he could. it sounds like this could be about his best friend, or a really good friend. "i can remember parking lot nights, what did they mean to you?" and maybe his friendship and him caring about her wasn't good enough |

this and lukcy denver mint have the same meaning to me. it's a good song when you've got 3 girls ganging up on you for no reason really and only to find out you don't need them and never did. so don't worry what they are saying cuz it doesn't matter at all. and i just looooooooove how people are fans of one song, and act like they're the bands biggest fan... it's great that one song pulled you in, but listen to the rest of it before you claim to be such a huge fan. it's also fun to know a band before they get played on the radio. i've tried to go to as many dashboard confessional concerts as i could in detroit and when i found out that they were going to play him on 89x i was happy cuz i'd hear it on the radio, but saddened because now all these people would claim to be such huge fans when they had no idea who dashboard was. i felt like he was my own personal band haha. dashboard has a song for every emotion, i love it. ahha ok, enough about him, jimmy eat world is great |

| Jimmy Eat World – Lucky Denver Mint Lyrics
| 23 years ago

whenever i listen to this song, i've always thought of it as a broken friendship... which i can completely relate to!! lol it started with an arguement that just got completely out of control.
"this time it's on my own" in my case, my best friend had abandoned me for other friends after 3 years, for friends she had only known for 4 months at the most
"somewhere i made a wish with lucky denver mint" i many times had wished that everything would turn out ok and we'd go back to being friends again, however that's not always the case :-)
"hurry go on ahead. good things won't let you wait. i'll catch up when we get home. at home i'll leave" i think of this like, she needed to be with other people because she thought there was something better there then what she had in our friendship. the grass is always greener on the other side, you know?? lol and then i recently got to a point in my life (almost a year after it had happened) where it was like, i would keep trying to be friends with her, but then i just realized i didn't need her anymore. ("at home i'll leave") i had made other friends since then who cared way more about me then she ever had. i always thought we had the greatest friendship in the world, and how could she just end it without saying anything really, like how could she just give up on us so easily??
"a dollar underwater keeps on dreaming for me" even though i had pushed her from my thoughts most of the time, there was still this little hope i had tucked far away that she would want to be friends again
"you're not bigger than this, not better why can't you learn" i felt like she thought she was too good for me or something, and i think it's pretty obvious how the lyrics fit into that :-)
but anways, this song and The Middle always remind me of that whole incident. but i'm happy to say i don't need her anymore :-) hooray for moving on, right?? lol

This is the first song I ever liked by The Anniversary!! It's still one of my favorites!! They kick ass in concert!! I love the title of it too :-) haha Of course they had to play this song at St. Andrew's in Detroit!! Anyways... it's a sad song, but I love it! Especially "I kept your picture just behind the eye those weeks when our distance grew" |
