hey here's a good one, as a new fan of AFI, i loved this cd, sing the sorrow kicks ass. not to down talk any of the songs I'm just goingt o say truthfuly they all speak their own power and should just be listend to in that sense. sorry if that confused anyone. anyways....my point is why is it so hard to start out as a fun of the rough and rigid punk that AFI used to be and to still dig what they are doing? because on the contrare I loved this cd, then i went out and bought all their other ones and thought their hard stuff was magerstic. honestly, when it gets right down to it, this is all just poetry with some music. davey havok isn't a god people, but he is something close. he is truly blessed with his insight and way he percieves things. all respect due to havok. thank you. |

by trying to tell other people what a song is about we not only half destroy the song, but we make complete asses of ourselves. take a note folks, davey doesn't tell the meanings to his songs for a damn good reason, one you should all abide by. we all see something and we percieve it in our own little way. wuts the fun in having some one else tell you what you thought or felt was wrong? just listne to the music because you feel good about it. don't like a song because you know you relate to it and then all of a sudden some bastard tells you it's about leaves burning instead of relationships or praise to god. just cherish AFI. they are artists and they won't be around forever. |

hello everybody for the first time. let me first say AFI is the mother fucking shit. secondly, this song is alot like any other song davey has ever written. let's get past the obvious obstacle, davey thrives on writing about basic and simple things or situations but describing these situations in a way that makes a boring story seem amazingly exciting. he accomplishes this with every song he writes. for example, for all of the religious, suicidal, romantics, and hate breeders out there, this song is not for you. it's so hard to see yet at the same time to easy to see that this song is telling you everything the band and davey is about. it's flat out telling all of us that all the band and davey has ever done is been themselves, loving music and writing, and now that they've been called sellouts, they don't even care, they just still have the same love for music and writing. they sympathize with those fans that feel they've been cheated, but at the same time let you all know that it's their music nad it's their lives. I'm sorry, but if you're a fan of afi and you don't understand what I mean just listen to the song 6 to 8 and read the lyrics. davey goes in depth on this subject and all it is describing the entire time is the grueling task of touring. I may not be exaclty right on the dot with my assumption, and if I'm not I don't care, but I am right when with this band it's alot more simpler than we think it is. and that, my friend's, is the beauty of davey havok and AFI. good night, and god bless. i'll be here all week. be sure to tip your waitress. |
