Lisa Loeb – Wishing Heart Lyrics 22 years ago
here here Starz, $10 says 90% of female Dave Matthews fans would love Lisa Loeb ... anyways on to the song.

It's about finally realizing what you want out of life and going for it regaurdless of anything.

Lisa recognises that there may be some bumps in the road "If we all leap before we crawl we might fall, and it's not always candy spun from head to heart." But she goes right back into saying that these are the things she wants and she's going to get them.

Dave Matthews Band – Bartender Lyrics 22 years ago
Emo and Davehead have the right idea as far as I'm concerned. It's impossible to not see the spiritual roots in this song, and I also think the God is the Bartender ... Dave is reaching for him ... unsure of what he should do and where he stands with God.

He wants to be the things he ought to (hence him asking for the wine Jesus drank making him worthy of the atonment and ressurection) But he fears his own nature, and in the end fears no one will remember him for good.

The line "Bartender you see the wine that's drinking me came from the wine that strung Judus from the devil's tree it's roots deep in the ground" leads me to believe Dave thinks he's going to hell ...

Obviously no one would be ok w/ this thought, which is why he makes his pleas to the bartender "I'm on bended knees father please"

Dave Matthews Band – Warehouse Lyrics 22 years ago
Ok I think the warehouse is some kind of loose representation of a structured life that society aporves of. And at one point in all our lives we look around and go "is this it?" That's why he leaves the warehouse in the begining, looking for something better out of life. Breaking away from the things we've been told, dismissing them as superstitions. Then he learns that the world isn't all peaches and cream and in the end he will die just like everyone else and we've only got so much time. And even though he's enjoying life the fact that it will all come to an end is haunting him (This I admit tastes so good Hard to believe an end to it) In the end it doesn't matter what color the cat is or what people say about it because it's going to fade and die just like everything else, and this makes him worry that maybe this is no better then it was in the begining, cause whether he be in the Warehouse or not everything comes to an end.

Dave Matthews Band – Crash Into Me Lyrics 22 years ago
I have always seen this song about a deep attachment "who's got their claws in you my friend Into your heart I'll beat again ... Lost for you I'm so lost for you" It's almost a connection that cannot be explained. Let's not be stupid though ... it's about sex, can't put a good connection like this to waste can we? :-) But even in the sex (and the skirt lifting and peeping tom stuff) there is something more, the two people are becoming apart of one another, creating an even deeper attachment.
