this is my favorite song on this album. i agree with trippinb and wimpy...i think the song is about having a huge desire to change things and not look back. "i've said it before," "i'm never doing that again," "every night as i'm falling asleep."

this is my favorite song of all time. the electronic drums, the clapping, the cabasa (shaker sounding thing), whistling, everything. i freaking love this song. i saw them with Ben Folds and they did this in the encore with Ben. sooooo good.
i agree to the Christianity overtones. "stay the way i am today is certainment disaster"...sounds like it to me. |

I've always thought this song could be about Satan. He's not omnipresent, he can only be in one place at a time. Also, he "craves the dust of the Earth" or something to that effect. He's always on the move, cause he's got a lot of people to get in what I'm sure to him is very little time.
Even "my body lies but still I roam" could be interpreted that hell's angels are out working all the time where he isn't.
Anyways, that's just my thoughts. |

I feel sorry for the guy..."I guess I should have heard of that from you." to me means that if she had told him about it herself, he would have taken it lighter. I think he was so in love with the girl that he probably would have accepted it even though he knew that the relationship wasn't true. I think hearing about his gal's vacation was his opportunity to say what he has been storing up inside of him for quite a long time. When he says "So kiss me hard, cause this will be the last time that I let you" it's obvious that he still loves the girl if he's kissing her. It's like even though he knows it will be better for him to be out of the relationship, he is definitely gonna miss it. And I can see exactly where he's comming from...anytime a girl has done me dirty, but I've still fallen for her.
That's what I think anyways. |

My favorite b-side...this song RAWKS. I know this'll make me sound like a loser, but I always think about when I was 16 at the Homecomming dance and I danced with this girl I had the hugest crush on. We had never said anything to each other, other than "hey," but the dance was the greatest dance ever. Even to today our conversations consist of "hey" or "whats up" but I'll always remember the dance.
Check out "Only in Dreams" also...that one also makes me think of that....but I'm a big loser anyways. |

I'm with you holysweet. I know that it's easy to quit liking a band when they change styles a little, but you never know what's going on in their heads that would make them change. People change. Metallica for example. Listen to "Ride the Lightning" and then listen to "Load" and see if there isn't a difference. If you're gonna like a band, respect them and like them. If you're gonna like their music, listen to what you like and don't gripe about what you don't like. I myself am a Weezer fan (and I agree, Pinkerton is by far the best) but I'm not going to quit listening to them or quit supporting them just because their later albums aren't cookie cutter copies. |

i'm gonna go with EmoRockGirl314. I don't think there's much romantic in this song...it's mostly raw emotion. As with other songs on Through Being Cool, I think that the violent images are straight up anger. Even though emo SavestheDay is right too, there's nothing wrong with us tryin to figure Chris out. |
