Avril Lavigne – Sk8er Boi Lyrics 22 years ago
Christ there are over a thousand posts on this stupid song. What the hell's wrong with you people? When there are over a thousand posts on a simple, meaningless song by a talentless, pre-frabricated artist I really start to lose faith in human beings. Nobody can really say anything that hasn't already been said. The majority of the posts on this page either say "Avril roolz!" or "Avril sucks ass. She's not punk!" I think everybody can just stop now because I'm pretty sure nobody's gonna say anything original or thought-provoking. I doubt anyone is going to read a post on this page and have some kind of glorious epiphany, changing their ideas about music forever. Why don't you people find more fruitful ways of spending your time like reading a book or making a collage.

Blind Melon – No Rain Lyrics 22 years ago
This is definately one of the stand-out songs of the 90s. I remember listening to it on the radio when I was younger and now I get almost nostalgic hearing it. I wish today's music could be this great, but I guess all we can do is look back fondly.

A lot of you might be suprised to know that Shannon Hoon didn't actually write this song. I guess we'd all like to think he did because it would certainly further his immortalization, but it was actually Blind Melon bassist Brad Smith who wrote it.

Apparently it's indicative of his codependency with his ex-girlfriend. They were both very depressed people and were sort of estranged as a result. He named the song "No Rain" because she would sleep all day and would be disappointed if it didn't rain because she'd have no excuse to stay inside.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Knock Me Down Lyrics 22 years ago
This is a great song as is Mother's Milk as a whole. I just bought it today, which completes my collection of their Frusciante-era stuff. I'm not a big fan of their really early stuff but I suprisingly enjoyed it. "Knock Me Down" obviously seems to be about not living a life of total excess and crazy indulgence. It was precisely the cause of Hillel's demise.

The Smashing Pumpkins – Winterlong Lyrics 22 years ago
I can't believe nobody's posted on this song. It's a great one and it's on the b-side/rarities disc of their greatest hits CD. I heard it and taught myself to play it right away. I'm not sure what it's about. It might just be about having great friends that are there for you. They're like a warm fire in the harshness of winter. Something like that.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Can't Stop Lyrics 22 years ago
Yeah, I can't say enough about the CD. It's so incredible and it has such a broad range of influences that it pretty much changed how I listen to music. Every song is amazing but "Can't Stop" sticks out like a sore thumb. I'll never get tired of it.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Breaking the Girl Lyrics 22 years ago
I think rchpbek got the closest to my interpretation. Ya see Anthony moved out to California to live with his dad when he was just a little kid and his dad introduced him to this fast-paced life of drugs and girls. A lot of girls came through his dad's place and the song is about an early encounter with one of them. I think I once read that he lost his virginity at age 13 or something.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Aeroplane Lyrics 22 years ago
No, I'm sorry, "aeroplane" has nothing to do with Aerosmith. The word "aeroplane" is just a British variant of the word "airplane". That's all it is; an airplane. The extra syllable helps the song flow a little better though.
