"rebel from the waist down" is a term used in 1984...not sure, but I think it might be an allusion to it...Marylin Manson is a really smart guy, but people don't understand him, and they reject what they don't understand, b/c they're afraid of it. |

Has anyone here ever compared Marylin Manson's songs to books like 1984, or Farenheit 451? The reason people find it so offensive is b/c it's so fucking true. It's what's going on in the world today... |

Possibly...I'd always thought about it in a biblical sense...I never heard of cocaine being called cain, but, maybe the song is a metaphor using both biblical stuff and drugs. |

I believe this song is a reference to the Bible. Cain and Abel were Adam and Eve's first two sons. Cain was jealous of Abel, so he killed him. God was pretty pissed at Cain, so he banished him, and put a mark on his forehead so no one would kill him. |
