i read in an interview with dave matthews himself that this song is a love song. its a boy staring at a girl though a window but not because he is a peeping tom. he loves her but lost her already and wants nothing more than to have her back. yes...there is sex involved but it not just about getting a her pants. its a love song. and by the way i have listened to music before 1990 including chicago and the beatles and i happen to like DNB alot better. dave matthews is a wonderful guitar player and vocalist. the band wouldnt have survived this long if he wasnt. if you dont like DMB, thats fine but dont say that their fans are wearing a stamp. also i saw them at darien lake on 6/20 and they were AMAZING! |

the begining of this song shows fear of the warhouse. then it gets into superstition(black cats and latters) who ever this song is about or meant for, they are get over thier fear and love the warhouse. eventually they have to leave and they do but not without thinking about how their heart and soul has grown in this place:

this song isnt about jane matthews. dave named this song because jane liked it and was always asking him to play it for her. when he couldnt find a better name ha called it THE SONG THAT JANE LIKES because thats what he always refered to it as. this song may be a little about acting, in fact i think it is, but i heard that this song a little to no meaning. i think dave was just fooling around with some music and got a good song out of it. its really good though- cant deny that. |

dave matthews was really preasured into making an album for the band at the time he wrote this song. he was a little depressed because he couldnt create music even though the band depended on him, especially sinse they scrapped the last album. i think this song is about his career and what the has acomplished, and you cant write a song about daves career without mentioning drugs. dave was frustrated when he wrote this but that emotion is hidden behind the up-beat tempo |

this song was origionally called SHES MY BITCH, which i thought was kinda weird. dave changed the lyrics a little and gave it a new tittle when he put it on busted stuff (the cd)and the lillywhite sessions. i like it. |

this is the most pure love song i have ever heard. jbcstore, i dont think that this song is about an acceptance and dave is NOT saying that there are no hard feelings because after this song dave wrote HALLOWEEN which is really one big fuck you to the same woman. either way this song is amazing. |
