Roxette – Things Will Never Be The Same Lyrics 22 years ago
The live version is very good - the acoustic guitar is definitely beautiful. But I have to say that the drum-synth-electric guitar intro on the studio version rocks my world. Another song about saying goodbye and losing a lover.

Roxette – The Centre of the Heart Lyrics 22 years ago
I think this song is an expression of the conflict between one's rational thoughts and one's emotions. The brain is a person's logical decision-making mechanism, but the heart is in a 'suburb' - it's telling her to do something that's not rational to her brain. But of course she really wants to 'follow her heart' - so what's she going to do? Write a song, of course, sing some 'na na na's. :)

Roxette – Listen To Your Heart Lyrics 22 years ago
I also like this song a lot, but when I think about it, it brings back a very sad memory from over half a lifetime ago. I was probably 12 or 13, riding the bus to school in the morning. Though I was in middle school at that time, we also picked up high school students along the way. I remember that we picked up this high school girl from her home along a dirt road, and she was crying violently. Apparently her cat had been run over by a truck just a minute before the bus came to her house. This song was playing on the radio in the bus exactly at that time, so I always associate it with that sad memory.

Genesis – Fading Lights Lyrics 22 years ago
This is one of my favorite Genesis songs - especially I really like the 5-minute instrumental break in the middle of the song. This song has always held much meaning for me - it reminds us that we can only live each moment once. Though life is so long and most of our daily events seem so common and repetetive, each second is precious and should be savored. After the circumstances of our lives change and we part company with loved ones, we can never go back. So the events that seemed so common and boring at the time are cherished in memory in the end. "These are the days of our lives - remember"
