I think this song hits close to home for a lot of people. Me included, my parents divorced about 9 years ago now, and i have seen my dad twice in that time, by accident. "It ain't easy, growin' up in WW3 Never knowin' what love could be But I've seen, I don't want love to destroy me Like it has done my family" that part of the song hits so hard, but its so good for kids to know they're not the only ones, and its ok to freak out over it. I always thought this song was about a superficial love, the convienient kind that puts you into a happy oblivion but never deeper then that - "i need for you to come and go without the truth falling out" "like the sun through the trees on a cloudy day" I think he's talking about keeping that ignorant love alive, and pretending everythings fine. He doesn't want to be alone or isolated, he would rather slug on the way it is, and just apease the relationship "socially scared and impared" But thats just me. Oh, and on the topic of awsome Silverchair songs, I vote It's Gunna Be Alright, my boyfriend at the time told me that that song summed up exactly what he felt like when he broke up with me. It still brings back all those memories, but such an awsome song. |
