I'm pretty sure in this song Matt is talking about his friend comitting suicide. It's pretty much sumed up in "I've got a long list of calls I must make to your existing family You had nine lives and one by one you chewed 'em up Your final coffin nail's been driven far too much This won't take long, you said, I'm not going far Go wait in the car o wait in the car."
Great Song, I saw alk3 perform it at the Agora in Ohio.... |

After reading everyone's opinion I have come to the conclusion that most of you have no clue what you are talking about. Matt wasn't raised with organized religion but that doesn't mean he can't believe in something at one point in time. This song is clearly about a "higher power" such as God. When matt refers to "I rejected the faith in your holy rays" it clearly states that he is speaking of some sort of religional problem. Faith is described as "believing in something that might not be there" therefore if he has faith is lets say a person then thats a false statment considering the defenition of "faith". Also being selfish, vulgar and lazy are all sins. Once again Religional refreneces. Overall I love this song, and I can relate totaly. This comment wasn't suposed to bash anyone opinion, I just believe if you look at all that's there, there is a deffinate answer to the meaning of the song... |

Excellent song, I still don't understand why you guys (or girls) didn't understand the upside down crucifix part. If you know Matt he has a different approach on religion. Check out the song "Hell Yes" for a deeper view on his opinion.... |
